The 1952.-'53 officers were President, Carolyn Powell: Vice-President, Charlotte Hatchg Secretary and Treasurer, Carolyn Mossg Reporter, Mary Aleshireg Chairman of Recreation, Marilyn Kennedayg Chairman of Degrees, Janet Wintersg Chairman of Projects, Francie Karnmg Historian, Sandra Allen: Parliamentarian, Lillian Martin. Our sponsor was Miss Corzatt and our Chapter Mother was Mrs. Evelyn Hatch. Last year's Chapter Mother, Mrs. Kay Bradley became our Chapter Grandmother this year. ' , To start off our activities, the officers attended the House of Delegates meeting at Quincy, Illinois. A feature of F. H. A. week which everyone enjoyed was the Chinese supper that Miss Wahl seasoned for us. We were invited to Forum for flower arranging. At Christmas time, Mrs. Cantrall demonstrated gift wrapping. Members found it a treat to attend the formal initiation at Augusta. Our Chapter Mother and Chapter Grandmother entertained graciously at two respective parties during the year. Our organization affiliated with the state and national organizations. , The girls in Future Hornemakers of America are striving constantly to make better home- makers of themselves. This has been a busy year for chorus. We participated in the Hancock County Music Festival, leaving early in the morn- ing for rehearsals under the direction of Thomas Williams from Knox College. A public concert was given for the public in the evening. The chorus participated in the Christ- mas pageant, The Nativity, went to con- test, participated in school assemblies and functions, sent special solos and ensembles into the community when asked, and sang at the graduation exercises. F. F. A. The Plymouth F. F. A. makes another step forward. During the past year, our past presi- dent, John Cleland, became Sectional Star Farmer. Another F. F. A. member, Carl VanF1eet, became not only sectional poultry winner, but district winner as well, and competed for state honors. ' The F. F. A. has thirty-four members in school and three associate members, John Cleland, Minor VanBrooker, and Bill Clayton. There are also four honorary members, Roy Copelan, James Lawton, Harold Huey and Nick Thompson. The Plymouth F. F. A. was active in community service as they conducted soil testing, a pest killing contest, milk testing, and the annual scrap paper drive. The vocational agriculture boys have made benches, tool cabinets, decorated the classroom, and shop during the year. Fo money making projects they sold popcorn at the basketball games, sold garden seeds, scrap paper, made hog troughs, and raised some soybeans. ' . Each year we have a parent-son banquet, and either attendlthe International Livestock Show or the National F. F. A. Convention :at Kansas City.
