Baseball Quite a few P.H.S. boys enjoyed playing baseball last fall. The Ply- mouth club swingers won three games and dropped two. They defeated Mendon twice and Arenzville once. The Hawks two losses were handed to them by Colchester. At the beginning of the season, D. Boos and D. Ale- shire were Coach Schnake's starting battery. Later, this was changed to D. Aleshire and H. Rash. The pitchers had very good instruction since it came from a very good pitcher. Coach Schnake is quite a mound master. The first game was with Colchester, and they trounced the Hawks by a 14-4 score. For the next game, Plymouth again met Colchester and made a much better showing, but because of numerous infield and outield errors, Colchester repeated the outcome of the previous game and won 6-3. The Blackhawks then went to Mendon and scalped them 9-0, behind the brilliant pitching of D. Aleshire. There were very few errors this time. Next the Plymouth nine traveled to Arenzville, to come back a 5-3 Victor. The first ground double play was made here CI-Iitz to Hays to Boosb. The next game was with Mendon, here, and D. Boos again worked from the mound and collected 16 strikeouts. This was the best job Boos has ever turned in from the mound. The Hawks held Mendon scoreless again while scoring 7 runs, one of which was a home run through the infield by Hitz. For these five games, D. Aleshire swung the most accurate bat, hitting over .400. Baseball will again be taken up with the coming of spring.
