Senior Blawg THE CAMPBELL'S ARE COMING, the senior play, one of .the best elvenwitnessed by the local stage enthusiasts, was directed by Miss Alice irgin. The play, a three-act comedy, was centered around thelovable old Grand- mother Brannigan, CDonna Dowacterb and her three grand-children- Dick CRay Kammj, Betty C Betty Kendalll, and Kaye QEileen Hancoxh. Kaye fell in love with Kingston Campbell CArt Robertsj, the well educated son of Mrs. Augusta Campbell Clmogene Stonekingj. Rather than have Kaye married to Kingston, the Brannigans' decided to pretend they were ignorant Hillbillies so that Kaye would marry her childhood sweetheart, Jeff Scudder CKenny Haysl. Jeff's uncle, Cyrus Scudder CForrest Stockwellj was helpful in the plot as well as trying to talk Ma Brannigan into marry- ing him. Catalpa Tapp CEleanor Simmonsb was the young hillbilly maid who worked for Ma Brannigan. Her Pa, Bildad Tapp CDon Aleshirel upset the Campbell s society act, when he proved that Mrs, Augusta Campbell was his sister. Catalpa decided that she and Pap would go and spend a few months with the Campbell's and take all the kids along. The Campbells went back home just as financially embarassed as when they came with the intentions of marrying into a wealthy family and getting their money. The Brannigan's settled back downto ordinary life with a little tighter knot of friendship tying them to the Scudder family. Zluninr Iglilg CNot Picturedp Brides to Burn, the junior play, is to be put on about the twenty- ninth of April. The characters are as follows: Tish, Bonnie Alexander, Trudi, Betty Hillyer, Hap, Harry Rash, Gil, Ross Sargent, Clarice, Avis McCutchang Fats, James Robinson, Sue, Pat Downingg Hotch- kiss, Darrell Boosg Sopolia, Joan Aleshireg Madame Gasparilla, Pat Kepnerg Dr, J onesby, Howard Williams. Berlamatinn Three members of the junior class were the participants in declamation. Pat Downing read, Rebecca, Joan Aleshire, The Lord's Prayer, Betty Hillyer, The White Cliffs. Betty Hillyer was chosen to represent Ply- mouth in serious reading at the district speech contest at LaHarpe. Betty also participated in the verse speaking event at the district contest. flbffire Staff During the second semester a plan of student office helpers has been used to attempt to overcome the lack of a full time office secretary. Their work has consisted of compiling statistics, making entries, answering tele- phone, carrying messages, and such. A place was provided in the office where they might study when not busy at other work. They have performed faithfully and have been helpful in promoting operation of the oiiice. The following personnel served: Freshmen-Ronald Shipman, Janice Waner, Paul Urton, lla Marie Ware, Sophomores-Maxine McKinley, Alberta Dow- acter, Seniors-Eileen Hancox, Marion Simmons, Betty Kendall.
