311.31-I.A. The Plymouth Chapter of the Future Homemakers of America consists of eighteen members. The F.H.A. is a national high school organization of the secondary home economics clubs of the United States. Those eligible to become members of the club are girls who have taken or are taking home- making. The club also consists of a sponsor and a chapter mother who take part and help supervise all activities. The club has had many interesting meetings, sponsored a party for all high school girls, and participated in radio programs. The Chapter also at- tended the district rally in Pittsfield. Another activity of the F.H.A. was sending of an overseas Christmas box to Dutch children. The purpose of the club is to provide activities for the girls that will help them develop both personally and socially. IILEILA. Its aims and purposes, its motto and salutes deine an organization. The following are ours: SALUTE: I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of Amer- ica and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, indi- visible, with liberty and justice for all. MOTTO: Learning to do, Doing to learn, Earning to live, Living to serve. AIMS and PURPOSES: 1. To develop competent, aggressive, rural, and agricultural leadership. 2. To create and nurture a love of country life. 3. To strengthen the confidence of farm boys and young men in themselves and their work. 4. To create more interest in the intelligent choice of farming occupations. 5. To encourage members in the development of individual farming programs and establishment in farming. 6. To encourage members to improve the farm home and its surroundings. 7. To participate in Worthy undertakings for the improvement of agriculture. 8. To develop character, train for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism. 9. To participate in cooperative effort. 10. To encourage and practice thrift. 11. To encourage improvement in scholarship. 12. To provide and encourage the developement of organized rural recreational activities.
