Une hundred and four seniors, the largest graduating class in the history of l'lymouth High School. will receive their diplomas on Julie 7. To us it will be- come a memorial evening to be looked back upon: the beginning of a new life afler which we no longer work together as a unit but as individuals with hopes, aspirations, and ambitions to drive us onward to great accomplishments. Looking back on the four unforgetable. happy years we have lived and worked as a part of the great body composing this building, we find that our class leaves an excellent record of participations in phases of the school's life and activities- Yve aided in launching a number of successful organizations: the Senate, the student legislative body and the strongest assembly in school: the Lost and Found department which takes care of found articles until identified by their ownersg the Intra-Murals, an organization for boys who do not go out for varsity athletics. lYe have been represented in Orchestra, Band, Glee Flubs, 'l'raek Basketball, and Football-which this year excelled all other l'. H. S. footbali teams by coming out of the league undefeated. Last. we had the privilege of having the first Prom and a very successful one in the high school gym. In speaking of our accomplishments we do so with an extension of thanks to Mr. Senty, our class advisors. our instructors-especially Mr. Iverson for his assistance with the annual. and our parents and friends for the time. help. and patience they have given ns. Our class advisors. well worthy of mention. have been: 1931-39 ....... Miss Pells fhlrs. Varltonl and Mr. Draeger 1032-33 ..,.. As you were our advisor when we were graduated. we thought that you might be interested in knowing what some of the old students are now doing. The honor of writing to you has been given to me and I shall try to portray for you the lives of my old classmates as I learned of them at the reumon yesterday. James Hughes and his little wife. forlnerly Monica Reilly. have just won an Irish marathon dance held in Dublin. This happy couple as well as Mary O'Malley and Eugene Reilly went to the Emerald Island to spend their lives in the quaint little town of their forefathers. Dishwashing as an art? True! Bernice Steinke is a dishwasher in an orphan's home. The amtor of the building, Clarence Wetzel. IS lllltf' interested In her. h , . I . - . Ruth Illueller. the matron. and Bernard linkgraf. the chef. also find tlns line of work agreeable. hlarion Radloff and Rae Jane Libke have recognized ability and grace in dancing and are accomplished ballet dancers in Chicago. Bernice Vomins and Vivian Metzner are still the good little girls they always have been and believe in modesty as the chief virtue of femininity. The report made by Lester Ribbeck for the past week was as follows: two cups broken, three glasses cracked. eight bars of soap used. and eighteen dirty towels. The boys of Hillside Apartments in Milwaukee-Harold Wfittkopp. Armand lVard. Lester Ribbeck. and Farl Radlotfhwere assigned the household duties for the past week. Next week it will be the girls turn-the former Vlorinda. Schmoll. Gertrude Schultz. Lucille Liebenstein. and Edna Nelson. These eight clmms have found housekeeping quite an intricate art, especially Lester. Ruth Yan Wagner is a singer in a famous club house. Her good friend, Mary Ann Berg, is a dietition at the club but she just can't keep Yanie's waistline down. lVhile traveling through China recently, Marjorie Framer met an old schoolmatc of hers. It was Billy Bade. who was flirting with a quaint little Tang Vhow from the shade of a. jinricksha. Henry Balde and Hilda Bergin used to make eyes at each other in history class. Now they hold hands across a breakfast table. ' 1 A contest to see who could eat the most ice-cream was held in Ripon recently and won by two girls there: DcLores Stretcher and Angeline Guhl who both weigh over 200 pounds. A quartet, composed of Wilbur Kalk, tenor: Evelyn Bade. contraltog Dorothy Dees, soprano: and Amos Prietzel. bass. are touring the countrv. Their next appearance will be at Johnsonville High School of which Joseph Mayhew is the princlpal. Important faculty members of Joseph's school are: history instructor, Shirley Adams: Latin and Greek teacher. Ernestme Wilsmang and agricultural director. Eugene Wifler. At. a carnival recently held in Plymouth were seen Gerhard Schwenzen who performed acrobatlc stunts: Pearl Smith who tap-danced: ther motto is, Blondes For hle J and a graceful duet dance by Johnny Schellpfcffer and Edward Weber. I'rlyf' .YI.llI'fI'f'Il Q U 1 T ' Q U I ' O C Y E A R Golf champions of 1950 are the all famous brothers. Darwin and Erwin Laack. llarold Miller is a good authority on Holsteins. The new kindergarten teacher at Plymouth, Isabel Anhalt. has as her most regular and attentive student. Alvm Frantz. David Holbrook spends his time trying out new hair tonies to flatten his flaming glory. lfarl Noel, the Bomco for whom everyone falls. wanted a job where he was sure to have an audience so he tried preaching and is now President of the Inter- national Missionary Society. llls secretary is Irene Schuette. The crooning idol of Radio-land is none other than Ronald Sieber. A recent network broadcast. included such renowned persons as Uaroline Zemke, who sang a soprano solo, and George Schmidt with a plccolo solo. A nation wide search is being carried on for Dorothy Rauland who has just. run away from home. Her parents are trying to locate her. VVatson and Sherlock Holmes on the job are Armand Manthei and Gordon Nicolaus. This reminds me of Elwood lirbstoeszer the great detective, who is working on the Lindbergh case which is still unsolved. The cheese house of Plymouth believes in employing pretty and attractive girls. so they have kept five of the old classmates. namely: hlargaret Baker. Beverly Keiser. Marie Mayer. Dorothy Radloff, and Lorraine Skillicorn. Also in l'lymoutl1. is Bernice lfranzcn who is the city nurse. A Siamese-twin act was put on in a. noted club recently by our two friends Helen Delwarte and fordell Emley. Marie Jochman. I gathered, was safely tucked away in a little love nest on a. mink farm with Floyd Kurtz. Jack Reihman, as well as Gordon Winn, are famous oculists. No wonder so many of my girl friends are wearing glasses. 'l'here's a reason for everything they say. Willard Bidlingmaicr is busy building a. bungalow for his little wife. Clariee Vollins. Rumors have it that Myrna iNIeyer's chief interest is the old flame from Falls. Beulah liichenberger is the wife of a famous boxer in Vhicago. Gertrude Graef and Viola Guhl are capable rural school teachers who often get together and talk over their school ma'am problems. Yvilfred l'ayne is known to all of us as the second Dempsey, while Dorothy Sicbeualer is the Dean of tYomen at a Vlucago Follege. .lannette Blanke. superintendent of the Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, has two Interests in life: her career and the handsome young mterne she just met. Elvira Manthei is a widely known woman lawyer in New York. Her chief interest is her career and lawyers! 1 The faculty of the Elkhart High School boasts three of our classmates: Ann Alem Zmkgraf as the instructor of Home Econonncsg Wiayne Pool as the music dlrector with Jack Sceber as lns assistant. Vlara Rortvedt is the president of a woman's club which writes criticisms of modern authors. They lately disparaged the fantastic novel of hlarie hlueller who is a disciple of Gertrude Stein and has used one of her remarks as the name of her book-- I Never Say No. Not In America. Staff members of the Plymouth Review include: Haldis Bredesen. Editorg l'1laineLeifer, Assistant Editorg Reporters, Louise Kalk, hlargaret Knauer, and Evelyn Linstcdt, of l'lymouthg Grace Liebenstein of Batavia, and Doris Helf of Gillett. l'uyc Tzrruly U I T ' Q U I ' O C ' Y E A R B O O K Harold Hoeppner andllarold Koopmann have certainly turned out to he some big he-men. Every day you can see Harold Hoeppner driving down the avenue in his big Dusenberg accompanied hy Harold Koopmann who makes goo-goo eyes at all the girls. The old elass has produced two of the prominent ehemists of 1950. They are Philip Limherg and James Krueger. Roger Selk and Winfred Sinner are also known as great menf' They run a large farm on a new theory of Command and it shall be done for you. Their ehief eommander, however, is Carl Forbett. He always did say there was nothing like life on a farm. Kenny Lindsay is still jus' driftin' oftentimes repeating his favorite quota- tion about hours of sleep: Nature requires five: eustom gives seven: Lazmess takes nine, and wiekedness eleven. Thelma Kaehur and Salina l.e Mahieu have retained all the dignity they possessed as seniors and have pledged their servn-es to soelety as ehlld psyehologists. Lavern and Lorena Fabian, two prodigious aviatresses. have made several reeord breaking flights in the past year. Time Hies and I am sure that when I shall again meet my old elassmates in fifteen more years, I shall see them in more interesting roles because of the wisdom ac-quired with age. I hope that those roles shall be as peasant as those of the past reunion. As you have probably learned by this time, dear advisor, high sc-hool diplomas do not end our educa- tion, for, if I may paraphrase Shakespeare, I.ife's just a big sehool and all the men and women in it are but students, Q55 ssiiw Sincerely. Each senator takes care of the sales in his home room. The Lost and Found department was a feature of the senate. A committee appointed by the president consisting of Wayne Pool, chairman: Wilfred Payne, assistant chairmang Elwood Erbstoeszer, Warren Wittkopp, Edward Leyhe, and James Hughes as auctioneers, took charge of the department. Persons that had lost articles could claim them on description of the article. The second time a person would come to claim an article a fine of one cent would be imposed. Auctions on all articles not claimed were held every two months. The point system was put into effect this year with the result of some students having to give up some of the offices they had. A number of points are given to every activity in school. The point system has been devised so as to give more students a chance to hold offices. The Senate has been a great success during the second year of its existence and it is hoped it will endure for many years to come. The first semester Senate was composed of the following: President .....,. James Hughes Vice-President. .Elwood Erbstoeszer Secretary and Treasurer . She is thc model of good citizenship in the library and works in cooperation with thc teacher in charge. to whom she reports any misdemeanors. Second, she must have a complete knowledge of the contents of each book and magazine in the library. and be able to guide a student in the use of any reference book. She nmst be able to assist pupils with the card catalogue and there- fore must have a complete understanding of it herself. 'l'hird, certain shelves are assigned to her: their appearance and order are her responsibility. Fourth. the student librarian exercises her originality in arranging: attractive library displays to improve the moral, social, intellectual, and aesthetic life of the students. First semester student librarians were: Ilaldis Bredesen. Hazel ivarner. Ruth Schwaab, Ione Lorgge. Irene Schuette. Clara Rortvedt. Lauretta Ziehr. Jane Rose, Donald Schoenfeld, and Lois Hubin and Beatrice Butler as general as- sistants. Biology Club I'ndcr the supervision of Mr. Zimmerman. the Biology Vlub came into existence this year. The club hopes to accomplish something in the study of plants and animals and was organized to allow students who have an interest in some phase of biology to work on the project more extensively. The aims of the amateur biologists are to leave some exhibition for the biology department and future student members of the club. By obtaining an intra-mural ticket with the payment of a small sum and receiving a membership card boys from both Junior and Senior High School were welcomed as members. The 1nen1- bers are elected according to their constitution and are the judges upon the viola- tion of any club rules by its members. 'l'his year the organization sponsored touch football, volleyball, basketball, and school wide field day. A number of other activities such as hockey, wrestling, boxing, speedball, track and field, tennis and horse shoe will also be carried on by the club as soon as the field and equipment a1'e ready. 'l'he point system in use here is practiced according to rank and division and gives each outstanding player an award, in addition to promoting competition. Basketball again lead this year as the most popular sport. The teams played Tuesday. three noon hours a week, and Saturday mornings.
