First as a teacher of general science and biologyg later as adviser for the Co-operative Training Program 093625 and finally as principal in January 1951. His work with the students, teachers, parents, and the Board of Education aims to make a real good high school- into a better high school. Shirley Keehl graduated from Ply- mouth High in 1947 and started working as secretary in 1948, Our Assistant Principal, Mr. Gorguze, has been in the Plymouth School System eight years. He began in the Junior High as a math teacher, and now is in charge of all student activities as assistant principal. Nancy Kelly and Lois Austin have worked as student office girls for two years and one year respectively . Counselors In addition to building changes, office changes have also been made. Mr. Robert Smith, former chemistry teacher, is now Assistant Principal heading the Guidance and Counseling Office. Two part-time teacher-counselors have also been added to the office. Miss Virginia Ol m s t e a d and Mr. Robert Southgate assist in the morning and afternoon respectively. S c h e du l i n g classes, administering various type tests, and generally encour- aging s t ud e nt s to better scholastic and activity performance are the main objec- tives of these three people. fhi 'wn-s. Pat Gyde is not only our girl Friday but also Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday Graduated f r o m Plymouth in 1956 she began working in the Guidance office in the same year She sets up interviews for student S and acts as a receptionist 7 ANL AH.-1.41 As the students of Plymouth H1gh School entered school th1s fall they found new addl t1ons and 1mprovements Among these are an add1t1on to the hbrary maklng lt a more dehghtful and enjoyable place for research and pure readmg pleasure L1brary 1mprove ments 1nclude pastel colored walls new bu1lt 1n shelves and modern tables and cha1rs Other blg 1mprovements 1nclude the now spac1ous art room whlch was fully redecora ted for the conven1ence of the teacher and students It 1S made up of two rooms one for general art work and the other for ceramlcs The blology room has addltlonal cabmets and experlmental equ1pment together w1th a S1gT11f1C3.l1t area for the d1splay of b1olog1cal spec1mens The chem1stry sect1on mcludes one room for labratory exper1ments and another for lectures The Plythean Staff has found a new home too The wall to wall measurements are at a m1n1mum, however the 11ttle Plythees have made full use of the space They even have a llghted draftmg table and a brand new IBM electrlc typewr1ter QThe reasonyou are able to read th1s 'J The old Jumor hlgh now referred to as the Annex g1VGS room for the expandmg c merclal, mus1c, and Enghsh departments Arch1tectural 1mprovements 1n th1s bu1ld1ng such as new doors, modern awmng type w1n dows fresh pamt, and general redecoratlng have made more pleasant surroundmgs for both teachers and students 'U lmpr ov ements under way . . . . Har- Meet, Home Dave new Although it receives small note on the sports page, Cross Country proves to be an interesting and highly competive sport to those hardy souls with the strength and energy to run a gruling two mile course. The Harriers set a good record this year with three wins and one loss. At the regionals, the Plymouth Harriers came in eighth place, and at the league meet they came in third. . VGYSHY Basketball The Plymouth Rocks posted a good over-all record of seven wins and three losses for second place in the Suburban Six League. The team began by winning their first three games then falling to the Bentley Bulldogs and Trenton Trojans respectively. The boys lost once again to Bentley, defeating our chances in ty- ing for first place with them. In the Regionals the Rocks were elim- inated from the tournament by losing to Belleville. The Pilgrim Prints has received many outstand- ing awards during its 12 years of publication.
