THE TEACHER I took a piece of plastic clay And idly fashioned it one day, And as my fingers pressed it, still It moved and yielded to my will. I Came again when days were past The bit of clay was hard at last, The form I gave it, still it bore, But I could change that form no more. I took a piece of living clay And gently formed it day by day, And molded it with power and art, I came again when years were gone, It was a man I looked upon, He still that early impress bore Mr. Latture teaching one of his many govemment classes. Mr. Nelson playing a song written especially for this occasion. And I could change that form no more. Mr. Gorguze, Mr. Goodwin Mr. Nelson, and Mr. Bently singing the song written for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Latture and their daughter at the banquet table after the dinner held in Mr. Latture's honor for 25 years as teacher at Plymouth High School. A young child's soft and yielding heart.
