Senior Class Prophecy DATE: June 1969 SETTING: Right after a reunion of the Class of 1959 CHARACTERS: Mr. Strine, Principal and Miss Easterday, Senior Class Sponsor Mr. Strine: Well, everyone seemed to have a good time, don't you think so Miss Easterday? Miss S: E. S. E. S. E. S. E. S. E. S. E. S. E. S. E. S. Easterday: Yes, I do. It's always rewarding to come to a class reunion and see what some of my former students have done with their lives. The Class of '59 has produced some pretty worth-while people. For instance, several of the class have chosen the medical profession for their life work. Jim Wasserman's dream of becoming a doctor has finally come true and Barbara Cook is his nurse. Vaughn D' Lee Faust is a surgeon at a hospital in Detroit, and Joyce Stoodt and Karen Webber are both Medical Technologists. Dick Akers is now an aeronautical engineer and Bill Archer an electrical engineer. We can certainly be proud of those boys. Three of the girls have followed in our footsteps and become teachers. Maryellen Briggs is an English teacher, Maryann Hass a third grade teacher, and Sandra Barnes a Spanish teacher. Janice Bowman told me that she was thinking seriously of returning to college to become a psychologist, because she likes her job as a social worker so well. Bonnie Boyle said that her new book will soon be published. She promised me an autographed copy. Bob Gundrum sent his regrets that he couldn't be here, but he said his life as a congressman kept him pretty busy. I'll bet he makes a good one. He always was quite a talker. It's too bad Bea Buurma couldn't be here but I guess when you are a missionary in Africa you don't get home much. Jim Hughes tried to sell me a car today. He is owner and manager of Jol1y Jiggs Second Hand Hot Rods . Jerry Martin, Jim Stoops, and Earl Lynch are his salesmen. That J iggs! I think he could sell an Eskimo a refrigerator. Duane Utiss hasn't changed a bit , has he? No, being head football coach at Ohio State keeps him in good condition. Max Caywood is doing real well for himself as president of the Caywood Soup Company . Sue Meiser is his private secretary. Also working for him in the Cleveland Branch is Dorothy Predieri, Mavis Francis in the Dayton Branch, Wanda Alfrey in the Columbus Branch and June Cuppy in the Mansfield Branch. The Class of '59 has a lot of secretaries to its credit. Some more are Tressie Shepherd, Helen Seaman, Evelyn Cole, Olga Mae Compton, Sarah Noble, Shirley Postema, Ruth Heifner, and Norma Wallace. Did Jim Vanderpool tell you about the new recording he made? Yes, he did. He has become a second Elvis Presley. Betty Sprowles owns The Fashion Room, a high priced dress shop in Mansfield and Eva Dick and Holly Carter are her top models. Claude Ousley owns a barber shop and David Johnson and Joe Penrose work for him.

Dennis McGinnis, Nick Ruckman, and Dick Palmer must be doing very well with their night club judging by the cars they were driving. Speaking of cars, Vincent Bisignano took over his fathers Auto Wrecking Service. Also Duane Swartz is now running Swartz's Potato Farm. Bob Riedlinger owns a tobbacco Plantation in Georgia and John Brooks has a cattle ranch in Arizona. Did you know that Jeannette Sutter and Daryl Herz are both interior decorators. No, I didn't. Darrell Wilhelm invited me over for a free meal. He owns a small restaurant in Norwalk where Marilyn Daron is chief cook. Nancy Ballitch went high in the field of education, she is Dean of Women at Ohio State. Jim Dye told me if I ever got in a jam to come to him. He is a prominent lawyer in Cleveland and Marjorie Brooks is his secretary. Nora Dorion has surely made her hobby of art pay off. She just sold a painting for 3500. Jim Vogel has an interesting life as owner of Voge1's Speedway and John Ganzhorn and Dick Fidler drive hot rods all over the country. Donna Evans is doing real well as a hair stylist. Women come to her shop from miles around. Time has been good to the Class of '59. They have worked and prospered well, and I'm sure they'll continue to as time goes on.
