SENIOR PLAY - MIDNIGHT It is New Years Ifve. 'I'he Greenwood house is deserted. supposedly. hut first a flashlight heams and then goes out. A man disappears up the stair-way, 'I'hen Claire and Ilolt stumlvle into the dark room on a treasure hunt. Iiefore long, the room hegins to take on all the aspects of Grand Central Station: more Iieople walk in and out of the place. They appear and disappear. sometimes mysteriously' and other times for perfectly logical reasons. Miss Greenwood comes out with her maid and chauffeur to escape the noisy celehrations of the city. Kate and Ifddie come on a ghost watch to get a story for the paper. Joe Howard goes and comes out of a hidden door in the hookcase which leads into the secret room. when Nlr. Smith turns up carrying an apparently unconscious Paula. there is no doulmt about it something unusual is going on here! Nlr. Hardman has always been a faithful lawyer and friend hut when he starts creeping around with a gun and gets in a tangle with Joe. his reputation looks doulvt- ful. Mr. Smith says he's a C-man. hut Paula finds out he's something different. The secret room turns out to he TWO secret rooms and the counterfeiting press is just a Cover-up for more important things. The play turns out with a hang-up ending. I am told. hut when I wrote this they' wouldn't let me in on thc finish.
