Senior Class Of ’56 Senior Class Officers: Stanley Bradley. Secretary; Abbie Strong. Treasurer; Paul Marks, Vice President; and David Munger, President. Class History In the fall of 1952, we Seniors entered the doors of Lincoln High School as Freshmen with an eager attitude to make the best of our four years. We, through our Student Council representatives: Mary Beatty,Tom Connell, Paul Marks, and Rosa Lee Albrecht, helped guide the governmental system of the high school. We entered the doors as Sophomores in 1953. During our Sophomore year, we organ- ized ourselves and sold Autograph Hounds to make money for our treasury. Many of us in band went on a trip to Chicago; while many of us in choir took a trip to Ball State. The girls in our class helped organize the Junior Sunshine Society. Many of us were gaining singing experience when we sang in the choir highlight of the year, H.M.S. Pinafore. At the beginning of our Junior year, we elected our class officers: Louis Gurthet, Pres.; Paul Marks. Vice-Pres.; Christine Emigh, Sec.; and Stanley Bradley,Treas. Under the leadership of these very able officers, wc sold concessions at the games to raise money for the high-light of 1954-55, the Junior-Senior Prom, the theme of which was Deep Sea-Dreamland. Many of us Juniors were fortunate enough to be selected for Dramatics Club. The Club’s main project for the year of 1954-55 was the production of On the Night of Jan- uary 16th“, in which many of us held pans. Realizing that this was their final year, the members of the Class of '56 decided to make the most of it. The first thing on the agenda was the election of class officers. The officers were as follows: Dave Munger, Pres.; Paul Marks, Vice-Pres.; Stanley Bradley, Sec.; and Abbie Strong, Treas. Next came Homecoming! Our Queen, Christine Emigh, and her court, Abbie Strong and Joyce Lawrence, together with the students and the cheerleaders, led the team for- ward to victory. There was much celebrating at the dance afterwards when the Varsity squad found out that they were the Champions of the Central Indiana Conference. The Senior play, January Thaw , drew much approval from everyone who saw it. There was much excitement as the Scholarship Tests came and went in the Senior English Classes. Commencement exercises brought our Seniors face to face with reality. Thus the Seniors strode into the outside world to make their way. 10
