Senior Class Officers SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS .... Terry Van Gilder, President; Robert Scobey, Treasurer; Betty Davis, Secretary; Robert Orr, Vice-President. THE HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1954 Wo. the seniors, began our high school career in 1949, when we entered P.H.S. as eighth-graders. The up- perclassmen were “giants” and getting out of their way seemed impossible. A skating party—more of us down than up and a Halloween party were enjoyed by the class. Also during this year we planned our high school curriculum. As freshmen, our class consisted of an outstanding number of 113 students. During our freshman and sophomore years the students enjoyed a Biology Trip to Chicago. The sophomore year was the half way mark of our high school education. A Freshman-Sophomore Prom was held in the spring. As juniors, we broke tradition and custom by doing away with the before-prom banquet, crepe-paper decorations, and the holding of the prom in the Lincoln Gym. Our officers for this year were: Phil Dauler, President; Joe Felke. Vice-President; Jane Schoner, Secretary; Bev Richter. Treasurer. Throughout the year we had the concession stand at the basketball games to finance our Junior-Senior Prom. The Prom was held in the Centennial Auditorium using as our theme: “Moonlight in Paris.” The main part of the gym was decorated as an outdoor Parisian cafe. A boys’ quartet from Purdue University was a climax to the en- tertainment. we. the seniors of 1954. must say good bye to our alma-mater and our wonderful memories. George Wash- ington Slept Here”, our senior play, ran lor four performances which helped provide money for our May- flowers”. Officers elected for this year were: Terry Van Gilder. President; Bob Orr. Vice-President; Betty Davis. Secretary; Bob Scobcy. Treasurer. Wo are proud of our classmates who have participated in sports, musical organizations, and student government, making our four years the very best. 7
