We were green,M of course, but we were determined not to pretend that we were frightened. But there's something about a superior senior grinning at you that makes all your fingers thumbs, your feet tangle, and your voice falter. But we lived through it and started some of our members in football, basketball, and debate. During our sophomore year, we just slipped along. Several members of the class were outstanding, but most of us were just sophomores. The outstanding event of our junior year was the Junior-Senior Banquet, which we planned and which, we believe, was a pleasing success. It was a nautical affair, the theme being the Fleur de Mai. And now we are seniors. We have had four happy years in high school. We have presented the school with athletes, scholars, debaters, and musicians. And when we have quit the school, we hope that those left behind will feel that our time here was not spent in vain. 25
