2001: A CLASS ODDITY Some people say that you can never really go home again, but we proved that wrong when we returned to our old alma-mater, Plymouth-Carver High for our 26th class reunion. Why a 26th and not a 25th reunion? Well, it seems that our class still had Blue Eagle jackets to sell, left over from 1974, and . . . Right Rocky???? Preparation for our reunion was a pep rally, but of course, no one attended except for mistress of ceremonies Janet Roby, and 43 year old cheerleader from I-LUV-U, Terri Tavares. The scene for the gala occasion was the Plymouth Beach Bath House, our old hangout. The theme for the event was Colour lVly Bath House , depicted by the numerous 75's painted on the walls by Steve lVlichelangelo Almeida, assisted by class artists John Payne and Linda Flaherty. Prior to entering the building, we noticed President John Fernandes, who, by the way, was dressed in the usual clique garb of moccasins, corduroys, and an oversized pullover sweater. We were greeted at the door by no other than Janet Roby, who, we learned, was doing her most for Carver, as she had done for P-C, by being elected to all five selectmen. Upon entering the main room, we paid our respects to our honored guests. They included IVlr. lVlerrifield, now Editor-in-Chief of the New York Times, lVlr. Bill Butch Nagle, author of the edited and revised edition of the New Testament, lVliss Audrey Ziergebel, Librarian to the Library of Congress, lVlr. Tarantino, Vice President of the United States, lVlr. Going Crazy , also, lVlr. Kispert, world famous Wizard of Wall Street: lVlr. Wang, winner of a Nobel Peace Prize for his work in Physics lhe had a little help from his daughter Onalg and lVlr. Fleming, president of the campaign to fight litter in the hallways of P-C. While waiting for dinner to be served, we danced to the golden tones of Zotnik , and talked amongst our old cronies. Amazingly enough, many of those whom we had chosen for the senior superlatives had ventured forth and lived up to their roles. Rick Arons, our most likely to succeed, was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, which he declined because Susan LeSuer, our other most likely, was on the committee. Steve Almeida, our done most for P-C won the nomination for president of the United States. Class sweethearts Tim Smith and Bonnie Simmons finally took the big step after the longest engagement on record. David Luther, class athlete, is now following in the footsteps of Joe Namath by being all star quarterback for the New York Jets, and holding the title of Broadway Luther . Ann Nlotyka, female class athlete, is now captain of the U.S. Field Hockey Team. Karen Robinson and lVlark Ohannesian are now serving time in the Plymouth County House of Correction for various charges, ranging from driving to endanger to driving under the influence. Everett lVlaIaguti and Annette Closuit have become Plymouth's foremost hermits.
