All this is P.-C. - Class of '73 DEDICATION Because of her warm friendli- ness, her cheerful easy-going manner and her ability to smile, we dedicate this 1973 yearbook to Mrs. Ruth Swalesg bus driver, fan, and friend. We thank her for her sense of humor, her concern for all of us, and for giving her time. She has been a part of us for so many years, that as we make our departure from high school and begin to mold our future, her laugh, her smile, her memory, will linger in each of our hearts as an ex- trodinary and unique example of brotherhood and adulthood at its best. We thank you Ruthie , and give you all our love. God Bless You, The Class of 1973 V v A if . 1 . A 43 I 'A f A Q' N .f rv- I IZ' QI -5, X ,yu ,. J? For the first time in ten years, the Blue Eagles of P-C have won the OCL title, or least a share of it, as they ended up tied with Whitman - Hanson, both who had impressive records of 7-1-1. The only loss came to Scituate, 26-14, and the only tie came to the W-H Panthers, 14-14. On the other side of the ledger all the wins were close with the exception of the Turkey Day Classic with Silver Lake in which the locals won handily 29-O. A great deal of the credit has to go to Head Coach Mr. Paul Urban who just completed his third year as master ofthe pigskin game at P-C, along with his as- sistants, lVlr. Henry Cryer, lVlr. P-C participated for the first time in league competition against Marshfield, Bridgewater Raynham, Scituate, Hingham, and Rockland. The joy of victory came in defeating Hingham 40.75 - 35.70. The only Seniors on the team, Wendy Harris, and Joanne Cicciu contributed immeasurably in leadership and scoring. With the remaining team members returning, P-C has great potential of a strong and consistent competitive team. 154 :NN- S4 i Y i i I 3 A,., , ? WRESTLING Wrestling has come to P.C. in their first season, the Blue Eagle Graplers fell to their opponents six times while regis- tering only 3 dual meet wins. Led by co-captains Steve Burk and Tim Boylan, they never quit. Even when down 63-0 against an experienced team, someone came through to prevent a shut-out. The first win came at the first interscholastic Wrestling Match at P.C. 39-36 over Hingham, that effort was dupli- cated at Hingham the last match of the season. A Skip Frost was the most successful wrestler on the team with a 5-4 dual meet record. Two Juniors also were suc- cessful in dual meet competition, Bob Warner and Paul Nelson. -A 156 lg' inziwwf Adaptation and infancy was presented by the Plymouth-Carver Drama Club, January 5th under the direction ot lVliss Janet Draghetti and lVlr. Richard Briggs also with Karen Anderson as Student Director. Adaptation was written by Elaine lVlay and lntancy by Thornton Welden. Both ot these plays were winners in Boston Globe Drama Festival and have a great source of entertainment. Adaptation does a take oft on a game show and has all the characteristics of a show and is constantly moving from one phase to another. lnfancy is a satire of society and people. It shows how society doesn't permit an individual to grow up. This play gives you as a person, an insight to whats really going on, if you are unaware of todays social living. When presented at Plymouth-Carver they were well received and were very well done. .al-I 's 454 ,7 KK Qu in ya J 15 PW? -. xx. 4, TW xw ww wa-vw X? 9' gl 1 .., ...,. To me God stands for everything like the earth, sun, stars, and mainly for people, since I believe that God created man. I don't really have one set philosophy on life, but there is this one statement that pretty well states the way l think. This statement comes from a song I once heard that said, Live and let live. Let nature be your teacher. Respect all men and all creatures. I will always remember those few words: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I don't like hurting people and I try not to hurt anyone. In the same way, I don't like to be hurt either. I expect to be respected and treated like a human and I also feel that I should also respect other people too. I like to have trust in other people and I like to think that people will have trust in me. As I respect people, I also respect the creatures on the earth. Idon't believe in mistreating or harming any kind of animal. Just because humans are supposedly superior to them, doesn't mean we shouIdn't re- spect them because we depend on animals greatly not only for pets or animals of burden but also for food. There is one more thing that I believe in and these words are also words l heard in a song by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. They are, I believe in music, I believe in love. and the song goes on to state that God loves you when you sing. I believe that he does, and l believe that music helps me to think and get a better outlook on life. The part about love, I believe. Love of your fellow man, love in God, love in animals and love in the little things in life that make you happy. -LYNN FURTADO As the Editors of the 1973 yearbook we would like to express our thanks to the following people who have assisted us in many ways which have proved invaluable: Mr. Perrin Hughes and Miss Donna Tucker, our co advisors for their advice, patience, friendliness and dedication. Ellen Estes for her well done job as our business manager. lVlr. Robert Vantine, our representative from the Delmar Printing Company. who pulled us through when we needed assistance and advice and for his confidence in us. Vantine our photographers for their fine pictures and excellent work. Steve Reilly, a sophomore, who was always available when we needed pic- tures in an emergency and also came up with some fine candid shots. Friends, sponsors, and advertisers whose support and confidence helped greatly in achieving our goal. All the administration and faculty, who gave their assistance and patience when needed and all the seniors who helped us when they were called upon.
