SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY Class Colors: Green and White Class Motto: Nothing tried, nothing gained. Class Flower: White carnation We started our high school years with a frosh class of 21. There were eight girls and thirteen boys. Our fresh- man class officers were Helen Place-President, Bob Kammerzell- Vice President, Ronald Willard-Secretary and Joan Beals-Treas. We were initiated and given a party by the sopho- mores. We returned the party the night of initiation. Our candidates for carnival queen and king were Helen Place and John Fehrs. When we enrolled as sophomores we had nineteen. Thelma Hill and Wes Withers dropped. Two classmates were un- able to attend school because of illness. They were John Fehrs and Leon Berreth. This was our year to initiate and that we did. It was a lot of fun but we did a good turn in giving the poor frosh a party. Class members who participated in sport activities were Jerry Dyer, Ronald Willard, Clarence Haeg, Richard Soper, Clyde Long, David Dittberner, Shirley Norton, Rose Woodruff, Geraldine Marsh and Lavonne Loe. Class officers were as follows: Ronald Willard- President, Joan Beals-Vice President, Geraldine Marsh-Secre- tary, Bob Kam erzell-Treasurer. Mr. Melvin was our advisor.

I FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY Class Colors: Blue and White Class Motto: Quiters never win and winners never quit. Class Flower: Violet We started our school year with thirteen girls and nine boys. About two weeks after school started, Francis Nordeen and Naomi Parsons enrolled. Before the end of the year these two girls and Albert Nelson dropped. We elected Albert Nelson as President, Mike Bierce- Vice President, Delores Wilmes-Secretary, John Lyden-Treasurer, and Mr. Melvin as our class advisor. September 28 was a cold, rainy, and smelly day. COh1 those onions.7 Yes, it was initiation day. The fashions for the girls were long johns, loggin boots and greasy hair. Fash- ions for the boys were diapers, midriffs and high heels. The following Friday night the sophomores gave a party to make up for the damage they had done. March 4 we re- turned the party. The gym was decorated in green and white colors following a St. Patrick's Day theme. The student body and faculty were invited and they all enjoyed themselves play- ing games, eating and dancing. The boys from our class who participated in various sports were Albert Nelson, Jack Ashmore, Willis Weatherford, Jim Rash, Jim Robinson, Sherman De Lorme, and John Lyden. Girls participating in basketball were Roberta Meagher, Mary Lowden, and Martha Osterberg.
