It seems that only yesterday we came to Plum frightened but quite eager to be a part of it. We started our first year by electing Fresh- men class officers who were: President-John Cook, Vice President-Zigmond Nagy and Sec- retary-Rita Righi. We held a get acquainted party for all Freshmen. Our Sophomore year officers were once more wisely chosen, this time, President-jack Tru- by, Vice President-Frank Farkas, and Secre- tary-Shirley Campbell. Being more organized, we, proud Sophomores, sponsored many success- ful dances. At last we earned the name of upperclass- men. Officers again being elected were: Presi- dent-John Cook, Vice President-jo Kerr, Secretary-Betty Smith. The activities spon- sored by the Junior class were several dances, a Talent Show, a Sucker Day, and a three act comedy called, Seventeen Is Terrific. All were very successful and the money went towards the long awaited Junior Prom. I As Seniors, the officers elected were: Presi- dent-Jack Truby, Vice President-Albert Fletcher, Secretary-Eileen White. We spon- sored dances, skates, the Coronation Ball, and the Senior Class Play, and finally the banquet for all Seniors. When commencement came we found it dif- ficult to say much because of the lump in our throats. All that is wise and witty has been said, which leaves us with just this: We loved Plum High, we hate to leave it, and we'1l never for- get it! OFFICERS President . A 5 ' . uniors The story of the Junior Class of Plum Hi can be told in three expressionsg a little green around the edges, getting the feel of things, and really on the beam. Our freshman year, we were more than a little green around the edges. We held a dance, but most of our time was spent in getting acquainted with the school and our classmates. Then, our sophomore year, things began to pop. We started to get the feel of things. Our money- making activities were successesg and what's more important, we really began to function as a group. Things were looking up for the class of '52. But the junior year took the cake. We were really on the beam. Our play, We Shook the Family Tree, was one of the biggest successes in Plum Hi's history. And our prom! That was really dreamy! With the co-operation of our teachers and sponsors, we did well, indeed. And what of next year? Will we be able to say a huge success? Every once in awhile, one of us would take a quick look at the num- bers behind the doors to see if we were in the right room. Then, maybe you can remember our Getting Acquainted party and later the dance we held. This year we were more active and mature. Being very proud to be a part of the life here at Plum High, we, as sophomores, wish to contribute our share. We sincerely hope that we will be a great asset to our school-our own Plum High. On our first day at Plum we began to wonder. We little greenies gazed with awe and amazement at the long halls and the noisy crowds that rush here and there every time a bell sounds. We always ended up in the wrong class at the wrong time. As September moved along, so did we. We became acquainted with the students. That was the most im- portant part. After that the other things just fell into place. Although our class activities are rather limited, we are observing many things and filing them away for future references. In our following years, there'll be no holding us. It is composed of 16 members, 2 boys and 2 girls from each class. The council is the governing body of all the students, and it has been organized to promote school spirit, to bring about closer relationship between students and the faculty, and to pro- mote the general welfare of the activities of the Along with the regular members, there is one representative from each home room. It is his job to take the problems of the students to the council, where they can be discussed. The Student Council sponsors various activ- ities and projects each year. Hall and Bus Patrol I'm sorry, but you're not allowed down those stairs. How many times have you heard this? It is the Hall Patrol's duty to keep order in the halls and on the stairs. In this way they hope to prevent unnecessary accidents, and avoid excess noise, pushing, and to keep down the general confusion. We sponsored a dance and are also planning a field trip this spring. The plans as yet are indefinite but we rather think we may go to the Carnegie Museum, just for observation's sake. We are under the jurisdiction of the Student Council. Our student leader is Bob Pyle. At our weekly meetings we air our problems, difficul- ties, and complaints and it is his place to offer solutions, which he does with amazing dexterity and ease. We find him a true friend indeed. In order to aid in safety precautions on busses, a Bus Patrol has been installed at Plum. Although this organization was just formed last year, it has been rather active, combining most of its activities with that of the Hall Patrol. Camera! Action! On stage every- body! If you hear these strange sounds coming from the auditorium, you'1l know the Footlights Club is practicing again. This term we put on a three-act play which was very enjoyable work. The club is very aptly sponsored by Mr. Panza. Our aim is to further our interests in the dra- matic field. All members are very ardently inter- ested in dramatics, and we feel this is one of the nicest organizations in school. These boys have the task of making per- formances held in the auditorium run smoothly. Even though back stage may be in a state of bedlam, the on-stage scene is a picture of seren- ity. We owe much to these boys for work in as- semblies, class plays, and all events presented in the High School. Mr. Hemphill, who is their faculty adviser, has done a fine job in teaching these lads to run the movie projector, operate the lights, cut curtains, and countless other services.
