Glass Poem icontinuedb page 2 A guy with a crew-cut, that's John K. We know he'll soon be on his way In the Navy he will be, On the land and on the sea. The blondest gal in the whole class Is a small and blue-eyed lass. Marlene ls good in chorus and glee A good cheerleader too, by gee. Vaughn Martin, our chemistry whiz He likes to mix things and see them fizz. His height is an asset, we'll agree, In engineering he'll get a degree. Ronn1e's the guy who finds things to do At school in the daytime and other times too. He's pleasant and cheerful, happy as can be A well-liked lad, we all agree. Black, wavy hair and an innocent look You'1l never find Cappie with his nose in a book. He teases the kids but in fun just the same He'll make good to be sure, whatever his aim. Vera's a girl with spunk galore Her clever ways and wit we adore. As a pitcher in softball, she excelled the rest. As a friend we can say she is one of the best. A helpful miss is Mary Louise Trying hard her class to please. The biggest go-getter ln the class, She sure is a real swell lass. Bern1ce's not quiet, not really at all As for studies, she's really on the ball. To be a beauticlan, her goal she has set. A success she will be, at that you can bet. Shirley Johnson, carefree and gay Has an interest out Malden Rock way. With her high typing speed, We wonder how she can help but succeed. Tall and slender, that's Betty A. We're sure she'll be a success someday. To be a receptionist is her desire Of this Job, she will not tire. Here's a girl with dark black hair She's always ready to take a dare. Full of mischief and lots of fun Leona Nelson is the one. Darlene's fond of an Irishman, She says they're really lots of fun. She doesn't wear glasses Just to make her look beautecusg She wears them to make teacher think she's studious. Bonn1e's the one who teases us all, But she can be serious when playing softball. Baaaah Whenever she smiles, her cute dimples show 5LMiuu Her ambitions are alone for her to know. Juniori the guy who causes a riot. ' You never see him, when he's quiet. ,ft0k4 '7h7CW1'Z::' He's a whiz on the basketball court And he's really quite a good sport. The Seniors of '56 we wish to you All the luck that to you is due. May your ways be happy, your skies always blue And through your life success be for you. La Q, Sf'H'i 'lor ,Of As the doors of Plum City High School opened in August of '51, twenty six eager freshmen made their way up the stairs for ghe first tlme. Days rolled by and we were initiated September 7th. In our Sophomore year we lost Dennis Base and Sandra Peterson, But Dick Brunker, Beatrice Anderson, and Bernice Anderson enrolled in our class making it a total of 27. Our Sophomore card party was a huge success. When we were Juniors we gained John King and lost Helen Kulow and Dick Brunker, again making our original total of 26. With our Junior year came many happy memories. First of all our class rings. Then our class play, 'A Feudin' Over Yonder'. Last but not least, our long-awaited prom, with Blue Mggn as our theme. Jim Larson and Marlene Kannel reigned as king and queen. Our Senior year, and again 26 students enter the doors of Plum City High, because Jim Drier transferred from Arkansaw and Beatrice Anderson transferred to Hopkins. It seemed this year, our last year was the busiest of all. First of all we all went on a train to St. Paul and had our graduation pictures taken. Then our victorious Homecoming with Jerry Helmueller as king and Arlene Ghilson as queen.
