BUT HE WAS “MR. BASEBALL TOO A MINOT MALLARD STAR! HE SHONE IN SEMI PRO BASEBALL WAS WORSHIPPED FROM AFAR. WHEN HE WALKED ON THE BASEBALL FIELD FOES HISSED AND BOOED, BUT NEVER LAUGHED. AND WHEN THE GAME WAS OVER, YES, THEY TRIED TO GET HIS AUTOGRAPH! OUR ZOONIE MCLEAN HE’S A COLLEGUE WHO WANDERS THE HALLS OF OUR SCHOOL A DISCIPLINARIAN, IN SPITE OF THE TREND HE’S A REGULAR GUY BUT HE’S MORE THAN ALL THAT HE’S A LEGEND, AN IDOL, A TEACHER AND A FRIEND. TO ATTEMPT TO ENCAPSULE A LIFETIME IS A TASK TO BE TACKLED IN VAIN WHEN YOU TRY TO SUM UP THE LIFETIME OF THE MAN WE CALL ZOONIE MCLEAN. HE IS FROM NORTH DAKOTA RUGBY WAS HIS OLD HOMETOWN HE WENT TO COLLEGE AT MINOT STATE BUT IT DIDN’T GET HIM DOWN. HE FIRST COACHED IN UNDERWOOD BUT SOON HE SAW THE LIGHT HE MOVED TO DEAR OLD PLENTYWOOD WHERE HE COACHED BOTH DAY AND NIGHT. WE TEND TO THINK OF ZOONIE AS “MR. BASKETBALL HIMSELF HIS MANY YEARS OF COACHING HERE PILED TROPHIES ON THE SHELF. HE’S PLAYED AND COACHED MOST ALL HIS LIFE A SPORTSMAN, THROUGH AND THROUGH. FROM FOOTBALL, SOFTBALL, BASEBALL, GOLF, BASKETBALL, FISHING AND GOOSE HUNTING TOO. IN THE CLASSROOM, HE HAS TAUGHT PRIDE IN OUR COUNTRY, AND RESPECT TO APPRECIATE THE THINGS WE HAVE FREEDOMS TO GUARD AND NOT NEGLECT. WE’VE LEARNED IDEALS IN GOVERNMENT WE'VE LEARNED TO PLAY AND TRAIN WE DEDICATE THIS BOOK IN THANKS TO “MR. BASEBALL “MR. BASKETBALL “MR. WILDCAT 2 ZOONIE MCLEAN! Jeanne French
