Treasure Chest 1971 Plentywood High School Plenty wood, Montana MRS. HALLESY By Linda Fredrich Through all the years you've done your best You've put us through the long hard test. You taught us how to count and read And how to always do good deeds. This dedication's made just to say That we appreciate in every way All you've done, the time, the fun, And the length of our friendship has just begun. Elsie Hallesy Through These Doors Edna Hines A doorway is a wondrous thing Through which men come and go, A stream of life in search of good That other people know. As thesf wide portals open forth, i nej.r neeas, tneir longings jiu. I in A Korway stands, a symbol true Of man’s strong bond to man, ■ Whenihose who work together ffiive To build, to servL to plan. Hard at work 4 Happy, George? The work that made the WINNING float! Vacation is here at last! It has been quite a year, indeed. We were the district champs in football and basketball. We went to state for both events and the cheerleaders brought home the cheerleading trophy. The pep band and the speech team went to state, also. Mr. Grier introduced wrestling into our school and it proved to be a great sport. The junior class and the senior class put on two separate plays, which were huge successes. The girls of Plentywood High School were allowed to wear dress slacks to school this year. Students from Plentywood High School volunteered to pick up trash on high- ways and roads on Earth Day, which turned out very successful. Also, the Music Festival was held and many students received certificates for superior ratings. A new addition to Plentywood High School is The National Honor Society. Coach Ternes was announced Class B Track Coach of the year for 1971. Both girls' and boys' track teams had a very good year. The mighty seniors won in the float competition this year and achieved many high scholastic abilities. Our thanks goes to Mrs. Kuhl for giving us all the help we needed so we could get the school paper out at the end of each month. 8 Homecoming Queen rot e Junior Float Homecoming 70 Senior Float takes First % V' a Plentywood held it's annual Christmas Ball on Tuesday, December 29, in the multi-purpose room. The evening began at 9 p. m. with a semi-formal dance until 1 a.m., and a show at the local theatre followed. A traditional King and Queen were chosen, and reigned over the remaining part of the evening, including the Grand March. The entertainment was provided by the Omega , a band from North Dakota, and approximately 30 couples attended the affair.
