First, it is an in- stitution of learning.” But it’s more than that. Lots more. It is little things like . . . Walking through the halls and smiling at kids you might never see again after graduation, and it’s watching an ant crawl across a patch of floor in the chemistry room and then disap- pear into a crack in a board. Squirting water and blowing up test tubes in lab. Yelling at a basketball game until your throat hurts and then crying because you’re so proud of your team — even if they lose. And it’s wearing long underwear under your formal to the Homecoming game. It is other things too . . . It is smelling pizza from the lunch room at 11:30 while you’re starving, and it’s starting on your term paper two days before it’s due. It is running your stockings on the swivel chairs in the chem- istry room or wiping grease on your clothes and wondering how much dust there must be on top of Mr. Gackle’s ducks and eagles. “Secondly, it is an institution of discipline.” It is throwing paper airplanes in band and sticking gum wrappers in the tuba. It is sleeping in study hall, poking napkins in chicken wire and reading MAD magazines at committee meetings. It is posing with a pasted grin on your face for a lady who’s taking your picture, and it’s waving “Hi” to Louie while he shovels the sidewalk. It is memorizing Henry VIII’s five wives and trying to grasp the meaning of existentialism. It is searching for the truth. It is scraped gum, bitten fingernails, admit slips, lost pencils, Mr. Johnson’s voice, and Mr. Gustin’s hieroglyphics. It is the American flag in the breeze. Class Prophecy This is KPWD-FM radio signing on the air with your “jonnie-on-the-spot” reporter Jonnie reporting the latest local news. FLASH — Twenty years ago, 58 seniors — gee, that was a big class! — graduated from P.H.S. — Plumwood High, that is. Today they are holding their first class reunion. We now turn you over to Dudley Sem, your “on-the-spot” reporter at the convention hall, Kasper’s Klub. The Klub is now owned and operated by Wally, Evelyn, and Tiny. Wally is still trying to pay off his 1967 debt to the government. They have now made the Kasper’s Klub countywide, spreading the hot beat of the new generation throughout the Sheri- dan County hot spots — Dagmar, Redstone, McElroy, Archer, and Coaltown. Now here is Dudley. Here we are at convention hall. The first one I notice from the Class of’67 at this county wide syndicate is Wart Ward. Now swinging in is Linda Larson — one of Tiny’s famous Go-Go girls. She has now entered her Go-Go cage and is really showing them how. And now a message from a local producer. Have you been feeling low lately? Then perk up with Jeston’s Jets. They give you more bounce to the ounce. They come in the decorative black box. And now back to our reporter. Come in Dudley. A bulletin just was handed to me. It seems that Bergh’s Redstone Raider have now won the play-offs in the Junior High Division Basketball Tournament. This is a great triumph for coach Lily Bergh. We must also give credit to the great moral support of the cheering section led by none other than Gayle Everson. Of course the Part-time manager, part-time wife, Cathy Peterson, has greatly helped the Raiders on to victo- ry. Walking in now is the first woman mayor of Raymond, Carol Huffman, with her councilwoman of the in- terior, Linda Lou Johnson. Directly following them is the current librarian, Kathy Linder, of the Sheridan County Library now known as Dorothy and Kathy’s Limited. Larry Engstrom, who has recently retired at 38, has just wandered in. Fine boy! Now back to our sponsor. Do you have a bent wheel? Take your vehicle to Crooked-Wheel Christensen, Jr. His Motto is “Take it to the home of the little bear.” Now back to Dudley. Strolling in now is the prominent bachelor, Richard Foss, owner of Foss’s Fisheries located near the Box Elder Creek Watershed Project. Rick warns us that you can pull almost anything out of that lake in the wintertime. With Rich is another man in the food producing industry, Paul Holdeman. Paul is managing Spring Val- ley Gardens. The luncheon being served tonight has been provided by little Paul and big Rich. Trooping in are Howard Rasmussen and his darling wife, Karla, the former Johnston girl, and their lovely children — one-two-three-four — forget it. I can’t count them all. Right behind them is Howard’s one-time pal, Arlo Pohle, who is now a successful book publisher. We’ve left out an important part of this get- together. The entertainment tonight is being furnished by several groups including the one-woman band, Diane Hass, who is also noted for her finishing school, commonly known as Hass’s Lasses. To direct her we have Neal Nikolaisen who has now become a famous symphony director. He is accompanied by Colleen Peterson, better known as Nig’s Pianist. Also entertaining is Bruce Dcsonia, the singer who has just come back from the fair. Polly Walkowski is here tonight with her sax solo. She’s quite the girl! They’re really banging out the tunes tonight! Time out for a commercial. You’ve never eaten cheese until you have tasted Paco’s Pasteurized Cheese. This enterprise is owned and operated by Collins-Darvis Inc. These products arc processed from genuine goats’ milk — so eat up kids! Back to Dudley. Well, I’ll be. Here comes General Jake. It seems that the army has taken quite a change since he was turned over to them. And running in now is Duane Krogstad who is our famed Olympic champion. This must be his after dinner training hour. Standing over in the corner is Scobey’s director of Moen’s Moans Psychiat- ric Hospital. Through the fog I can see Steve Morstad, a prominent bull rancher, talking to his 1967 Prom date, Miss Marilyn Holte, It seems she is still playing around with her motto “Love ’em and leave ’em be fore you get left.” Steve also finds time to photograph for the Playbull. Here comes Fats Dcbino. Gee, I hardly know her. Before getting married, Debbie Zeidler started to write a book Dieting With Deb. Here’s a message from our sponsor. Do you feel that you need the best? Get Betty’s Best. It’s better than all the rest. There seems to be a slight disturbance out in the stairway. Well, it’s none other than the tumbling house- wives. First to land is the former Emma Graham followed close behind by the former Irene Heppner, Mi- chelle McCoy, Mary Marsh, Gail Miller, and Barbara Stadstad. Ladies, do you need help? Well, help’s ar- rived. Here come the Plumwood nurses, little Jonie-Jump-Up and little Dina-Done-Up. Everything is under control now. Gracefully walking in is that famous accountant for Miller Bergh’s Wiggly Piggly, Dallas Johnson. He is accompanied by Bob Peterson, president of Peterson’s Chevrolet and Biobby’s Golf Carts. Just walking in now are two efficient secretaries, Anita Christensen and Carolyn Nyby. Anita is currently employed by Paco’s Pasteurized Cheese Company and Carolyn by that once loved and chebished typing teacher, Walter Goetz. Now time for a message from Parpart’s Parts. See Glen for those irreplaceable parts. Back to convention hall. We are fortunate to have with us this evening Gail Marsh, who has just completed the sensational movie “Who’s Afraid of Lady Godiva?” At Gail’s premier selling pop corn was Alice Smith, better known as “Alice Pop Pop Pop Corn.” All lit up in the corner is Terry French, now vice president of Terry’s Electric Ligh-Up Company. He is talking to Wayne Lindell who has just returned from a big rabbit safari. We are fortunate to also have that “pro”, professional soda jerk, Carol King. She is still jerking at Plumwood Rex- all Drug. Another local employee that is with us is Doris Vert, who has recently been promoted to men’s wear at J.C. Penney’s. Dennis Chandler has now become manager of the Sherman Hotel. In bounced the only teacher from the class, Gen Severson. Gen is P.H.S.’s Home Ec teacher. We hear that she has acquired a nickname — Doughy-Do-Right. Linda Johnston who just flew in from New York, is on her way from the Plumwood Municipal Airport. She has written a current best-seller, HOW TO GO WITH A BOY FOR I HIR I Y YEARS AND NO T GET SERIOUS. Incidentally, her book was published by Pohle Publish- ing Company. That former Plumwood girl, Marcia Lester, was stewardess on Linda’s flight. Marcia is the only stewardess for Desilvia Inc., but she finds competition isn’t necessary to bring out the best in her. Mike McLinden has just arrived. He is still putting out the juice at the Enco. Hmmm! .Arriving late is Judy McCoy of the Merry Merry Dairy Queen. Judy told us the special for the convention is Paco’s Cheese. Yes, it’s been a fruitful night for everyone. We especially want to send good luck and best wishes to the graduating class of 1967. 34 Cheryl Brightsman Ann Chandler Claudia Clawson Linda Collins Ronald Domonoskc Linda Eckerdt Shelly Evenskaas James Glover James Goff Beatrice Graham Myrna Anderson Michael Ator Larry Bentscn Lauranne Bergh Marianne Bjornsen Marcella Blair Mclpha Blair Donald Bolke Jftk A Joel Granvold Jcrcl Gustafson Joyce Hacker Sally Janssen Irene Kanning Julie Kanning Fred Kavon Stephen Kern Nolan Kienitz Donnie Kisler Tony Knick Adolph Kollman Mary Lagerquist Janice Lawson Glenn Miller Ronnie Morstad Charlene Nelson David Pomerleau Barbara Popescu Alton Rasmussen Greg Ricrson Stephen Rierson Sandra Rorvig Dixie Ross Beverly Rovig Larry Set rum Jeff Smith Marie Vert Thomas Wankel Natalie Wold Steve Zeidler Kurds Madsen Sheila Mchl Sharon Midby PICTURES NOT AVAILABLE Robert Horsmann Christine Wood Joel Tande Linda Smith Lenny Smolak Terrance Syme Patric Tange Joel Timmerman 38 Cherie Abenroth Craig Anderson Patricia Beckers Gaylen Black Neal Brown Michael Bussingcr Richard Campbell Cole Chandler Joy Christianson James Davis Michael Donaldson Garret Eckerdt William Engebretson Pamela Feeney David French Debra French Jacqueline Glover Margaret Graham Vermae Gross Teresa Collier Clinton Collins Jody Christ Ricky Darvis 40 Patricia Holje Don Holst Halford Holtc Glen Huffman Dale Janssen Gregory Johnson Helen Johnson Susan Johnson Jill Johnston Herbie Joyce Bruce King Nancy Knick Mauretta Krogstad Victor Lawson Vickie Lossing Kathleen Lucas Grant McCann Zoonie McLean Frank Marsh Dan Mehl Sandra Mehl JoArlene Nelson Jerry Ness Mary Nyby 41 Ronda Walkowski Michael Wankcl Kathleen Wcisz James Pederson Clco Pederson Wayne Pederson Gordon Quam Norma Redden Karen Rost Connie Ruud Gary Schwarzrock Arlo Set rum Lorraine Simonson Jean Smith Jerry Stenehjem Howard Stoner Kirk Stoner Dale Tlustosch Gail Wagnild Bessie Wilson Mark Wilson PICTURES NOT AVAILABLE Kathy Kern Joseph Nistlcr Paulette Parpart Larry' Flowers Silas Kanning 42 CLASS OFFICERS: President — Tim Eckerdt.
