THE TREASURE CHEST Volume XI Presented by The Senior Class Plentywood High School Plentywood, Montana FOREWORD Here’s our ’57 annual! We hope you like it! The Staff 2 CONTENTS Administration Seniors Underclassmen Organizations Athletics DEDICATION Stm ■x w How many hours of advice, hard work, and ideas produce a prom? How much time is spent in banquet planning? Perhaps, Mr. Weisz, you'd really be amazed if you totaled the time you've spent in the last ten years as a tireless adviser for banquets and proms. Because we appreciate you, and what you've done for Plentywood High School, we, the class of 1957, sincerely dedicate this annual. 4 BOARD OF EDUCATION LEFT to RIGHT: Donald Peterson, Einax Klofstad, Waldemar Lane, James Bussinger, Sam Sprague, William Johnston, Harold DeSilva, John Kohler, Joe Eggen. Synopsis of Play The Plentywood High School Senior class, under the direction of Miss Osta Madsen, presented the three act comedy fantasy play, Green Valley on April 5. , The story takes place in Green Valley in the California hills. Strange things are happening in the valley- juicy strawberries growing as big as your fist, sunflowers stretching taller than a house, beanstocks matuiing as quick as a wink, and Minnie, Eldon Berry's cow, giving milk which makes people hear weird music and see spirits. Eldon Berry (Lawrence Heppner) just about gets slickered out of his land by Tobias J. Everheel (Dennis Wig- more), Prim Stokes (Pat Kleppen) tries to rile easy-going Eldon into action. Eldon's ancestors ’’rise to help El- don out of this fix. These spirits were; Dwight Wilson, Grandpa Berry; Ardelle Nelson, Grandma Berry; Kathy Harrington, Pru- dence, a witch gal; Ralph Jensen, Roger Pfeiffer, Curtis Overby, Raymond Worthington, and Harvey Anderson. The displaced settlers of Echo Valley were portrayed by Sharon Evenskaas, Lorraine Jensen, Dick Berglund, Ronnie Engstrom, and Gene Ritland. Eva Friese, an outspoken creamery maid, was played by Dorothy Kohler. Martha Mears (Betty Rost) of the Historical Society, falls in love with a native son. Tinker Smith (Larry Lidahl). Ralph Jensen was the chief technician for the staging of the play, and Dick Berglund was the main artist. JoAnn Thomsen and Sharon Soderquist made the outsized fruits and vegetables. JoAnn also fashioned the various styles of beards and wigs. Carol Sundsted provided the background music for the play. All of the other sound effects were produced in the throats of the characters. 51 F. H. A.
