CLASS HISTORY In September, 1944, thirty-two eager aspirants entered the main building of the Plentywood Public School together. These people started their journey to the top. The first years of the journey were years of trial, which were eased as they took part in various Thanksgiving, Christ- mas, and variety programs. It was not easy, and some, too weak to keep up the steady pace, were leftbythe wayside. However, there were other expeditions in pursuit of the summit that joined the rest of the group as they traveled upward. The days went by rapidly and soon just four years remained. Many of the boys took part in athletics and F.F.A. activities, while the girls be- came member s of T.N.T. and F.H.A. Meanwhile the ones with a musical inclination joined Band and Chorus. The Junior year saw them eager to leave their impressions when they presented the play Harvey and hosted the Junior-Senior Banquet and Spring Prom. During the last yea r of the journey they added many accomplishments by producing the Treasure Chest yearbook, the Wildcat school paper , the Christmas Ball, and the annual Senior Play. There are but eleven of the original thirty-two who remained to reach the summit in PHS. They are: Craig Christensen, Martin Herman, Harry Hilyard, Douglas Kienitz, Lois Kress, Doreen Norman, Donna Simonis, Adrienne Syme , Cherryl Wagner , Shirley Willard , and Johnette Whittaker. The expedition proved to be long, but it has been a happy experience which provided memories that none of the Seniors of 1956 will ever for- get.
