TREASURE CHEST- The Plentywood high school band won acclaim in 1946 as one of outstanding high school bands in Montana when the band, under the direction of Arden M. Vie, took part in the Montana music educat- ors' association music festival held at Glasgow. Clarence Hell, University of Montana band director, acted as adjudicator and rat- ed the band as II plus and stated publicly that out of more than 200 bands that he had judged in Montana he had only given five II ratings. The band this year has been active in claying at all the home football and basketball games and was host band at the Dis- trict I basketball tournament. The annual spring concert will be presented later this year and plans are being made to send the band to the Glasgow and Willi- ston music festivals. The band will also act as host band at the Plentywood band festival.
