We started out together in high school-we to learn and you to teach-but we soon found out that you were going to be much more than just a teacher to us. We shouldn't say just a teacher, because in your classes you made us not only understand but somehow even enjoy math. You are interested in our social activities, and thanks to your ingenious ideas and hard work they've been successful. We know that you care about our athletic performance as well, and we're glad to see you at our games. No matter what we do together, we can always count on you to understand us and to com- municate with us as our teacher and advisor but most of all as our friend. We return your friendship in full measure as we dedicate our yearbook to you- Gcrald Solin

MEMORIAM The Reaper and the Flowers There is a Reaper, whose name is Death, And, with his sickle keen, He reaps the bearded grain at a breath, And the flowers that grow between. Shall I have naught that is fair? saith heg Have naught but the bearded grain? Though the breath of these flowers is sw I will give them all back again. He gazed at the flowers with tearful eyes, He kissed their drooping leaves, It was for the Lord of Paradise He bound them in his sheaves. My Lord has need of these flowerets gay The Reaper said, and smiledg Dear tokens of the earth are they, Where He was once a child. They shall all bloom in fields of light, Transplanted by my care, And saints, upon their garments white, These sacred blossoms wear. And the mother gave, in tears and pain, The flowers she most did loveg She knew she should find them all again In the fields of light above. Oh, not in cruelty, not in wrath, The Reaper came that dayg 'Twas an angel visited the green earth, And took the flowers away. eet to me D 3 Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
