This year, however, the purpose of the BREEZE lies in its dedication. Through this presentation, we hope your memo- ries will be even more precious. With the realization that we are all striving toward a common goal, the friendships we have made will be enduring, the fun we have had will be better appreciated because we know it is not granted to all peoples, the knowl- edge we have acquired will be more vital, because it enables us to accept responsibility. May the ideal which has inspired us be a criterion throughout your lives. DEDICATICN A vast expanse of sky . . . The endless ripples of water . . . The strong security of the rocks . . . All these convey an interpretation of freedom far more effectively than could any words. For freedom is an intangible thing - Seen only where men and Women may think and act accord- ing to the dictates of their hearts and minds. Freedom and its components - The rights of worship and speech - The exclusion of fear and want - encompass our lives at Pleasantville High School, although we seldom pause to appreciate them. It is our purpose to now acknowledge this great gift we possess. To this end we dedicate the BREEZE of l957, and at the same time, our lives to the endurance of freedom, our most precious heritage. A Broadway hit play, the comedy had a wide range of characterizations, making it sparkling entertainment. Taking lead roles in the story, which revolved around a houseful of aspiring young actresses, were Sally Higbee as Terry Randall, Tom Glenn as David Kingsley, Barbara .lo Smith as Jean Maitland, and Robert Miller as Mr. Adolf Gretzel. The gamut of personalities and the variations ot dreams and emotions exhibited in the 3-hour performance, formed a brilliant, warmly human portrait of people. Its outstanding success reflected the cooperation of the Senior Class and the guidance of Mr. Censullo, Mrs. Lewise Hill and our advisors. For their freely-given time and hard work, we express our humble gratitude. Fans and arbors, draped with Span- ish moss, decorated the Plantation Room of the Jefferson Hotel to fit the enchanting theme of Plantation Para- dise for this year's Junior-Senior Prom. Everyone danced to the music of Jules Levin's orchestra until midnight, at which time Lois Virtue, 1956 Queen, and Mike Lindner, 1956 King, crowned Helen Garr and Charles McCall the Prom Queen and King for 1957. First runners-up to the crown were Barbara Jo Smith and Ray Lowry and second runners-up were Irene Leeds and Tom Glenn.
