The achievements of your class have added a little more lustre to the history of Pleasantville High School, and in turn, PHS has given you a start in this wonderfully challenging business of living. There are many joys in store for you, but none that will eclipse the experiences of high school. Mine has been the privilege of sharing with you your hcartaches and your satisfac- tions and of growing with you in knowledge, in character and in friendships. This book will be more to me than a record of your classy it will represent your personality as a group and as individualsg it will remind me of the place you have won in my heart. Do not listen to the prophets of doom. Take counsel with your inner self-with the voice of the natural optimism of youth. Faith and courage overcome all things. Ann W. Hill Mrs. Hill is the Dean of Girls and capable advisor of the College Club. NX'ith her pleasing manner and helpful attitude. she is always willing to assist the girls with tlieii problems and gives them ad- vice on the career best suiting them. Among her hobbies she enpoys travel. lirenth. .intl growing flowers. Samuel A. Scholl His untiring interest in help- ing boys plan their future makes Mr. Scholl very popu- lar among the students. Be- sides being Dean of Boys he teaches Ameriian history and is the efficient advisor of the Student Council. Included in his pleasure are gardening and photography. of PHS Marion Anderson That friendly C h e m i s t r y teacher with a quiet. petite manner is Miss Anderson. She is also the competent ad- visor of the Chemistry Club. Raising African violets is one of her favorite pastimes. Loretta Barbour Miss Barbour teaches Algebra l and ll and is the excellent advisor of the junior Red Cross. Her sense of humor adds much to her classes. Among her hobbies she lists sports and shovvs. Jennie Bartges An admirable instructor with a vast knowledge of all forms of mathematies is none other than Miss Bartges, She teathes trigonometrv. algebra. and geometry. Aside from this she finds time to advise the Reading and Dramatic Club. Arthur Behle Mr. Behle. excellent in liis field, teaches art. He is an inspiration to hopeful. young artists. He is responsible for the opportunity given to tlie students in the fall to display their artistic ability on tlie vvindoxss in the business see- tion of totvn. Henry Boney Besides the full time ioh of coaching the football squad. he teaches the boys' health classes. He also sponsors the Health Club. A man well re- spected and liked by the whole student body is Mr. Honey.
