lg1pg1 .n.1pg1ggilliq91-1lu1un1.p:iqp1nmin1nin- -.gli-gipplqpiyligp-nip-'gig SENIOR CLASS HISTORY For years ago fourteen Freshmen of the usual emerald hue entered the doors of Pleasantville High School. Reba Cleveland was elected president. and Lelia Near vice-president. The upper-classmen played several jokes on us. Un Class Day, four sophomores took one of our boys to the Ogle blocks and let him walk back. VVe had two parties that year-the first at the home of Reba Cleveland, and the other at the high school building. Both parties were chaperoned by Miss jackson and Mr. Curtis. Wlieii the new term opened we claimed as our property new privileges. but Miss jackson soon convinced us that we were only one year ahead of the Freshmen after all. Two new members. Opal Hudson and Audria Pad- gett, joined our ranks to take the places of those who had dropped out. The only party that year was a weiner roast. Misses jackson and Wiggiiis were jolly chaperones, and every one had a good time. In September, 1922. we began our career as jolly juniors. jere Good- man was elected president, Harold McCammon vice-president, and Lance Deckard secretary. Thanksgiving time brought a new junior, Charles Bry- ant. We may well be proud of that year, for five basket-ball players and the cast of Ruth in a Rush belonged to the junior class. In April we had a weiner roast at the VVilson farm. We also gave a reception for the Seniors in April. Now that we are about to depart from the place that we have grown to love so well, we feel that our tasks are ended here and are looking for- ward to higher things in life. XVe hope that our efforts to do our best in the interests of the school have not been in vain. May l'. H. S. continue in her worthy endeavors, and may the influence of the class of 1924 be a factor in her growth. Lelia Near. 'Z-1. The Sophomores are to receive the worn shoes that the Seniors wore on the road to knowledge. To the Freshmen we leave little hope.
