Now we felt like the school was meant for us , and the opportunity was laid for us to have more and better privileges than anyone else. Graduation was the event we looked forward to with joy in anticipating our freedom, yet sadness in leaving friends and memories behind us. 3 IEFFERY SCOTT LOWERY President Football- 1, 2, 3, 4 Basketball - 1, 2, 3, 4 Band - 1, 2, 3, 4 Stage Band - 1, 2, 3 Annual King - 1 Track - 3, 4 Madrigals - 3 Class Officer - 3, 4' Football Homecoming Cand. - 4 MICHELE LOUISE NICHOLS Treasurer Shop - 1 Glee Club - 1 Mixed Chorus - 1, 2 Flag Carrier - 1 Track - 1, 3, 4FHA - 1 Athletic Club - 1 - 4 Drama Club - 1, 2, 3, 41' Pep Club - 1, 2 Class Officer - 1, 31' Student Council - 3, 4 Madrigals - 3 Annual staff - 4 Basketball - 4 THERESA LYNN WHITE Vice-president Pep Club - 1 Class Officer - 2, 3, 4 FHA - 1, 2, 3 Volleyball - 3 Basketball - 4 Track - 4 PATRICIA ANN COC KRELL Secretary Pep Club - 1, 23, 33, 4 Glee Club - 1 FHA - S, 3, 4 Class Officer - 2i', 3, 4 Shop - 2, 4 Basketball Homecoming Q. - 2 Annual Staff - 3, 45 Drama Club - 3, 4 Student Council - 3, 41 Football Homecoming Cand . - 4 A t ar gm, , K , , , p ,Q - 2 MARITA ANN STANBROUGH lssi r A it E Student Council Rep. if 4. l Pepciub-1,2,3,4 - .. Coverage in the Pleasanton OBSERVER went like this: The play is set on Bataan, the Philippines, during World War Il: a new group of volunteer nurses arrives at an army hospital. In a short time they discover things about themselves and each other which had gone . . . unrecognized before . It is a production which brings out the tough interplay of forces within and without each individual character that make her a realistic, manysided person. The cast, under the direction of Mrs. Sheila Wimmer, includes Pam Wisbey, Joni Fish, Sandy Jackson, Michele Nichols, Debra Staton, Evelyn Charley, Paula Shidler, Sallie Easley, Holly Young, Sheryl Shidler, Carla Driskill, Tammie Browning, and Cindy Nellsch. a wwf 'lf' l FY' si 1 5 if THE CLUB: FIRST ROW. I felt it was my responsibility to make the year as fun and easy as it could possibly be. With the edition of the 7th and 8th grade classes in our building, the improvements that could be made by the student council were limited considerably. I regret no more was accomplished than was. However, our sponsors Mr. Stegge and Mr. German allowed this school year to be a pleasant one. Sincerely , DWP AJS David Lash Student Council Pres. 40 Who Runs Pleasanton High School? Alvin Robertson The students of PHS would like to give these people a special thanks for their efforts in our behalf. They've cooked the meals that our stomachs growled all fourth hour for. They've gotten us to school through snow, sleet, and rain and have taken us to all our ballgames. They've cleaned up all the messes we've made - from pulling down pep signs and sweeping up popcorn to erasing our original sayings off desk tops. THANKS! Our Editor Ann Cockrell Outstanding in her field . . . On the night of Feb. 24, 1976 , the worst fire in Linn County's history swept away half a block of buildings in Pleasanton's business district. The fire started at approximately 3:15 in the afternoon at the back of Curtois' store. The fire blazed for about four hours with winds gusting up to 40 mph, which caused the fire to burn uncontrollably for what seemed to be an eternity to those who were fighting it. Six places of business were completely destroyed as well as one area used for storage . Fire trucks were called from several towns in Kansas and Missouri. Firefighters worked from 8:30 in the afternoon and on into the next morning. This page is dedicated to those students who helped fight the blaze and perform other duties when and where they were needed. F ,W K We ' ,is ,W 'v , X Xa
