that he owned a large furniture store in Chicago. He sat down to rest in one of his over-stuffed chairs after a busy day and fell asleep. When he awoke, he had missed his plane. He was fortunate to get a friend to bring him in his helicopter. Arrangements were made for all the guests to stay at Ruth Ehrsam's hotel, the Van Orman, formerly in Fort Wayne, now located on the suburbs of Pleasant Mills, Indiana. In the morning the old gang would be leaving not to meet again until 1969 when we promised we would get together for our second reunion, perhaps in Washington, D. C. We'1l be seeing you in 69f Z0

We were all happily surprised when Alta Jones came. She had married a New York designer of women's clothes. While modeling for him, the romance developed and now they have opened a swank Fifth Avenue shop. She promised us all a complete outfit at cost if we came to visit her. We heard a racket while she was talking and in bounced Glen and Gene with spurs a jingling. Owners of a Dude Ranch in Texas, the two are experts on horses and horsemanship. M, G. M. , if you are in need of a good horse for your coming shows, please see these fellows. El Paso, Texas, Four Sixes-666 Ranch. We were all pleased to have pictures made of the reunion group-- thanks to Josephine Sheets and her husband who own a large studio in Fort Wayne, formerly known to Pleasant Mills students as the Roberts Studio. Her camera caught a good picture of the next guests. A chauffeur helped Alice Young and her husband into the restaurant. Huge boxes bulged with gifts for the ladies. Imagine our delight when each was presented with a lovely make-up kit. Alice told us that she and her husband had bought Max Factor, Inc. with shops in Europe as well as America. Then came Bryce Miller who has long been known as a hardware expert. He still owns the original store in Wren, Ohio, but he has a chain of similar stores in southeastern Ohio. He declares that his success comes from letting women alone. Nona Reta Mauller came alone. Her husband, a partner of Arthur Murray, was involved in a big business deal and was unable to leave. Reta was most helpful in teaching us all the latest rhythms. We danced to the music of Sammy Kaye and his orchestra. While we waited for dinner to be served, we gathered close to the band stand to listen to his vocalist. Many were surprised. Some hadn't known that Beverly White had been featured with his band for some time. And best of all, she and Sammy are engaged! Sabina Taylor and her husband entertained us after dinner with moving pictures of their trip to Africa. Soon they will be leaving to do missionary work in New Zealand. We mustn't forget Bob Wolfe. He had come early as he lives close- by. We are all proud that he is the principal of Pleasant Mills School which boasts an enrollment of eight hundred. Joyce Musser told us that she had studied to be a masseur and had worked as a masseur in some of the larger hospitals of the country. Present plans include a trip to Paris in the summer. Long after the dinner was over, our last schoolmate arrived. lt was Ed McCullough. We all wanted to know why he was so late. He explained 19
