a THE GRADES HISTORY The Primary Room of the Pleasant Mills School has thirty pupils enrolled under the guidance of Mrsg Brayton. .There are fifteen boys and fifteen girls. Besides the regular course of study We have stud- ied the children of other lands.' In the fall we Q helped in the collecting of milk weed pods. A H We have had three parties, We made scrap books for the soldiers and turned them into the Bed Cross to distribute.. - ' 'T We entertained the FARMERS with a special program and on February 6, we entertained the visiting trus- tees. T ' T - We hope to have a tea to entertain our mothers and also a picnic. On the morning of September 5, l944, a group of eighteen children entered their room. Six of these were in the Erd. grade and thirteen in the 4th. Mrs. Cole is our teacher and she is liked by all. - We had a nice.Christmas Party with Santa Claus present. He gave each of us a gift,and treat. - We also had a part in the FARMER'S INSTITUTE with a short program, t - Other special interests of the year were our Valentine Box and our class basketball games which the boys enjoyed very much. ' Twenty-eight happy children entered the fifth and sixth grades in September with Mrs. Mills as our teacher. c ' Don Suman, one of the sixth graders had the mis- fortune-te be hit in the head hy a dll bat. 'It.was a bad out and,required several stitches to close it, T At Christmas time we exchanged names for gifts. We all Went,together and bought our teaeher a niee -I gifte Santa visited our room, distributing treats. ' We are planning a picnie before sehool closes. 4 , . e w The Seventh and Eighth Grades taught by Mrs. Boss had an enrollment of 29 memters for this year. Norman Wolfe.and Ralph Smith entered from other schools. We lost two students during the first se- mester. Our-boys had a wery good basketball team and had a chance to play several outside schools. Ann Werling and.HQsella Burkhart served our boys as yell-leaders. U . 0
