PLEASANT MILLS SCHOOL HISTORY It was in the year of l9l8, that the Pleasant Mills School was built. It wosn't finished in time for school to st:rt,there-fore, school did'nt start till October. There wgs on enrollment of 45 pupils,2l Fresh men, no Sophomores, and 4 Juniors. The first grad rating class consisted of four boys. It wus said they were the smzrtest pupils in school. The first Principal was Robert J. Mann. The first teachers were Lorraine Foster, and Fannie Cowan. L 0ne of the present diy te.chcrs went through High School at Pleasant Mills: Mrs. Fortney, tho English,He1lth, Civics,Phf. Ed. and Music Fescher ln the yeir l938, in October 22, the new pert of the High School took its placc beside the High School of l9l8. There were three different petitions btfore the building wgs constructed. Yost Bros. More the constructors. All together th- bulding cost s58,ooo5 the Government p:idS32000 and the Township p-idS26000. The BuilLing consists of three class rooms, two oiessing roomsg gymnisium,which is eighty feet ind six inches by iigty-one fettg stigc, which is sixty feet by seventeen feetg ond thc ble chtrs, which will sect 300 people. The gymnasium will seit approximately 750 people.
