9' ' - K 9 e .h ova uusxc uamxrutur Music Cmu's1kD, n. the art of science of harmonic sounds har- mony or melody. The above is the defination of music. Here at P.H.H.S. we are proud of music. I should venture a guess that 655 of the students in High School take up some form of music. There 1sn't much choice only singing, Orchestra and Band. - ' Let us take singing first. In this class there are 66 students that mske up the chorus. From the chorus there are a few subdivi- sions. For the girls we find a Glee Club and an Octet. The members of the Octet are Fayma miller, Me Hill, Alyce Gilpin, Barbara White, Mable Reinhart, Fern Case. Imolu Case and mlnora Morrison. During the year of 1941 and 1942, the girls have sung acjserious places. They have sung at the United Erethern Church of Bobo, 'Fermer's lnstutite, there at the School G m.Dand for the Assembly, o The boys have good voices also. They have an Octet and a Quartet. The'names of the Octet are James Myers, Burvil tatkins, Franklin hoes, Johnnie haltke, Maurice Teeple, Bicmsrd sveregg, donald Stevens and Donald Cottrell. The Quartet is composed of James Myers, Franklin Ross, Donald stevens and hicherd nverett. The boys have sung at more places th n have the girls, the'places they have attended are, the United Erethern end Methodist Churches of Bobo, and for the Assembly. Dther branches of tha Chorus are, the Mixed Quartet and Lixed Glee Club. Those in the Mixed Quartet are, Fayma Miller, Franklin ness, Slnora Lu Morrison and Richard Everett. This group of singers can really make music sound like music. The Mixed Quartet has sung at a few places just as the Gctet's and Boy's Quartet. They have sung for, assembly Farmers institute, and at the .Calvary Bxanlelical Church of Saint Bary's ownsh p. 3 The Mixed Chorus is loing.to Berne this year as they have for the lest three years to sing in the Easter Cantets. - The song is 'Christ V1ctor1us'. glabra Lu lorrison and Franklin Ross will sing s D et. Also at Berne the Mixed Quartet will sing Wlnto the hoods! Our music teacher is Irs. Velma Fortney. ' The Ann ' ' ' as o ual Music Festival was held here at the Pleasant kills Gym. this 1881. Every School in the county was repre- except Delstur, and B rno. There was quite a.1arge crowd to stile. -Several deqbers ot the schools helped to sake up lntdrilillghted ' -l
