JdNlOR AND SENIOR TBkP To DETROIT . Instead of having a reception, the Juniors and Seniors of 1941 took a trip to Detroit. he rode to Ft. Wayne in a school bus and from there we went to Detroit on-a train. We had two buses and drivers chartered when we got to Detroite For about an ehour and a half we drove around the city seeing the most imgort- ant placest The bus drivers would tell us about the interesting places as we came to them: . After driving around in Detroit for a while, we went to Greenwich Village, which is owned by Henry Forde ln this village we saw an old fashioned grist mill, spinning oheelsq imaser of old clocksv and many other antiques We drove back to Detroit for our dinnerf and then went back to the Village for about an hour. Another place where we went which was owned by Eenry Ford was a large museums This was really an interesting place because there was everything imaginable theree Another place of interest .was the Ford Rotunda, where everyone had their pictures take n which were later put in the caper ' From the Ford Rotunda we went to dell Island where we saw many interesting sights of natural On this island there were many squirrels running free, without any fear of peoplee hnother place which west probably the most, interesting was in alarge buildingc This building was divided into several parts. Qmong them was the aquarium, where we saw many difierent kinds of fis h andre large sealg a place where they had several kinds of flowers arranged ao- that they were very beautifulg and a third glade where they had all kinds of tropical planted which included helm trees, messes of different kinds, and many other eiantse - The next place we went which was very interesting to most of us because- we had never been there before, was Windsor, Canada. When we got there everyone went uptown in Windsor and bought some souvineren We went 'across the Detroit river and came back on the ferrya . A' ' . .. when we got back into the United States the bus drivers took us to the depot where we were to get on our traine This left us about two hours to wait for the traint During this time we ate supper and explored the cityn but didnlt get tar enough away from the depot to get lost. . On the way home 'everyone was weary and worn out. Those the did try to sleep got water thrown in their face or anything else anyone could think rot which might annoy them. We got back to Pleasant lille about ll-O'clock in the nighte Everyone soon went heme, tired from a long dey of trave. ' , ig. 4 . I , -49-
