4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 SPQTLIGHT 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 THE SENIOR CLASS PLAY or 1940--1941 Don't Darken My Door, a three act comedy, was pre- sented on Monday, December 9, 1940 in the Pleasant Mills High School Auditorium. The play was directed by Mr. Vizard, Sponsor for the Senior Class. Participants in the play were: Roger Kent . . . Ernest Anderson Rosemary Kent. . . Deloris Beer Tom Garrick . . Richard Stinnitt Poppy Foster . . . Marian Backhaus Alec Stubbins. . . Herbert Foor Jane Perkins .... . Mildred Shifferly Louisa Featherstone. . . Wanda Bailey Susie Featherstone . . 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 SPOTLIGHT 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 PLAY PRACTICE Play practice was held in the auditorium. Due to the basketball schedule the play was not presented at the set time. Mr. Vizard and his wife took the play cast home after practice when the participants had no way of getting home. The boys and girls always liked the ride home better than the actual practice. Lancaster happened to have the same play for their Senior Class, so in preparation for the play, the cast took an evening off to attend it. When they returned from ,Lancaster, the cast stopped at Mr. Marsh's where the Juniors were having their class party. All the members of the play had a glorious time at the Junior's expense. During one practice, Mr. Vizard's wife, had pop corn for the actors, so they didn't get much work ac- complished, but enjoyed themselves immensely. On the evening of the play We had our first trou- ble when Dick Stinnett took sick with a cold, we kept him doctored up with Quinine and aspirin tablets so that we could finish the play, The life of the play nractice was Marian B,,ckhaus CPoppyJ, who led bonny Foor around by the ear. illliffklkllllkllllkiillkllllkilillllilllillllllllilillillkilllllklil
