I CLASS HISTORY We, as freshmen, entered P. M. H. S. with an enrolhnent of twenty-eight pupils, from five different schools. We soon became a United Organization, enthusiastic and full of ideas about our first year in school. Right away we elected the following officers: President, Jerry Price, Vice-president, Jim Wilson, Secretary, Rose Bilderback, Treasurer, Ilene Mitchel, Sponsor, Mr. Higgins. One day we shall never forget was our Freshman Initiation. Marching around the study hall with our clothes on wrong side out, in our bare feet, and our hair in a strange fashion, we furnished entertainment for everyone. We had one class party which was held in the school house. There was plenty of fun and excitement afoot. We, as sophomores, began our second year in P. M.. H. S. with twenty- four students. We immediately chose our class officers as follows: President, Rex Raudenbush, Vice-president, Shirley Johnson, Secretary, Shirley Edwards, Treasurer, Jim Wilson. Our class was well represented in all school activities. Most of the boys played basketball. Three were on the first team, and others that participated in sports were on the second team. Three of our girls were second team cheer leaders--Shirley Johnson, Shirley Edwards, and Audrey Gephart. As Junior Jottings we started our 3rd year of high school with twenty- two members. Losing Carol Musser, Donald Suman, and Jerry Neadstine. To enlarge our treasurery we sold pop and hot dogs at ballgames and also sold magazines during the year. For the magazine sales the class awarded a radio to Jerry Price who sold the most subscriptions. Class officers for the year were as follows: President, Shirley Fox, Vice-president, Rose Bilderback, Secretary, Ilene Mitchel, Treasurer, Audrey Gephart. We also had two enjoy- able class parties, one of which was held at the school house, and the other at the home of Ilene Mitchel. We also entertained a large group of people by giving a play called Three Cheers for Western. On May 9, 1952 school was dismissed and we were all looking forward to our senior year at P.M. H. S. Well, we entered good old P. M. H. S. for our last year as seniors. We still have our same class with twenty-two members. As a way of raising money for our class trip we sold ice cream and candy to the large groups that attended our basketball games. Also, we sold Christmas cards the first sem- ester. We are proud of our boys that participated in basketball. The first five of the basketball squad were as follows: Lester Painter, Bud Case, Jerry Price, Keith Frey, and John King who all came from our senior class. They did real good in helping to win the games and will be remembered in the following years. We gave a play called Inner Willy , which was a comedy. We were happy to have the large group of people that attended the play. The class officers for the year were chosen as follows: President, Jim Wilson, Vice-president, Audrey Gephart, Secretary, Shirley Johnson, and Treasurer, Shirley Edwards. We are now looking forward to our class trip which we are planning to start April 19. Prophecy Ah, at last here it is 1963. After nine years as a Rear Admiral in Uncle Sam's Navy, I finally got a leave to come home and see what my old classmates are doing. As I left the ship in San Francisco hailed a cab to take me to the hotel. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that the driver was Gerald Sipe. As it was a long way to the hotel, Gerald and I talked over old times. He told me that our old pal Jim Wilson is now a big Hollywood producer. The next morning I called Jim over the phone. He told me to come down and watch him make a movie. While we were walking around the lot, Jim introduced me to the famous actress, Pearly Van Ronson. I immediately recognized her as our former classmate. Back in Pleasant Mills she was known as Shirley Johnson. When I arrived back at the hotel there was a telegram waiting for me. It was from Houston, Texas. It seems that Bob Speakman has been very successful and now owns a large cattle ranch just south of Houston. Upon hearing that I was back in the states, Bob invited all of the members of the class of '53 to come to his ranch for a get-to- gether. I immediately took a plane for Houston. As usual air travel made me sick, but a pert little stewardess came to my rescue. It was Shirley Edwards. It seems Shirley is still unmarried and has been working for Trans World Airlines for several years. After arriving at the ranch we relaxed and waited for the rest to arrive. Looking to the north we saw a large cloud of dust. When the tires stopped squalling and the dust had settled, there sat Lester Manley behind the wheel of his new 250 H. P. Chrysler As you probably know, Les owns a famous 5th Ave. beauty shop. Lester's sister Marcile came along with him. She has been working as head beautician in Lester's shop. Marcile is still unmarried but she is engaged to a famous Broadway actor. ' The other person in the car was Lester's wife. In case you don't know, she is the former Audrey Gephart. Les and Gabby are getting along fine and have two cute little sons that are in school in New York. Hearing a noise we looked up and saw an airplane landing in a pasture field. It was John King in his private plane. At the present time John is drawing a pretty good salary as the president of the International Harvester Company. Other passengers in the plane were Calvin Wolfe, Keith Frey, and Lester Painter. Les has been spending a lot of time going to Ag. school and was just given an im- portant job with the Department of Agriculture. Calvin as you know, owns the country's largest amusement company, the Cumber- slicer Amusement Company. I guess Keith Frey is the only boy from the class to stay on the farm. Keith now owns 700 acres of the best land in St. Mary's Township. After talking to these boys for awhile our attention was drawn to the new Cadillac in the driveway., It was Rex Raudenbush and his wife, the former Patsy Burkhart. Rex is doing very well lately, he owns a half interest in the Burkhart Ditching Company. About supper time, Violet Judge and Marilyn Sipe telegraphed from Washington D.C. to tell us that they were too busy to come see us. They are nurses at the Walter Reed Hospital and since the war was just over they have a lot of cases to take care of. .Tust then there was a heck of a racket outside and Ilene Mitchel and her husband, Richard Peterson, came riding up on a motorcycle. They are very prosperous as they now own their own construction company but they still ride the motorcycle just for fun. ' About fifteen minutes later .Terry Price came driving up in his 1963 Ford. Jerry could afford a bigger car, but he is still a Ford man. Bud Case was with Jerry. They both play for the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons. Jerry has a beautiful wife, fguess whoj and three boys that he is training to become ball players. Bud was married just last year to a good looking star player of the Fort Wayne Daisies. Right behind them was Shirley Fox and her husband, Bill Johnson. They now raise cattle on their farm in Blue Creek Township. Shirley brought Rose Bilderback with her. Rosie is the English professor in a a big eastern college. Well, I guess that's all of us. No! Wait a minute. There comes Betty Sheets with two soldier boys. Betty is now a member of the Women's Air Force. After refreshments and a swell evening together they all started back home and I had to get back to keep the Navy going. Before we left, however, we all agreed to meet again in 1973. Till then, Bye!
