Senior Class Prophesy May 10, 2052 Dear Students of Pleasant Lake High, I did so want to be able to attend the alumi banquet and homecoming at Pleasant Lake recently but I was quite unable to make it. I'm sorry. It has been just one hundred years ago today that I and the other members of the class of 19 52 graduated from P. Lake High. It is amusing how little we knew than of what the future would bring us. These modern medicines have lengthened the life span of a person somewhat. Would you believe it? I am now 117 years old and I don't feel a day over 100. I thought perhaps you would be interested in knowing what some of the former graduates of PLHS are doing now. I recently purchased an interplanet radio wave set and I have been having the time of my life contacting all my old classmates. Pm sure you remember .Terry Platt.. You can imagine my complete surprise when I learned that he is sole owner of a long string of fashionable night clubs. .Jerry is one restaurant owner who still serves food rather than those tasteless capsules. His specialty is shrimpbergers. Gloria Harmon actually fulfilled her dream. Remember how she always wanted to live in New Mexico? Well, she hitch hiked there right after she graduated and got a job as an elevator operator. She saved every penny and about fifty years ago she bought her own Indian Reservation. Oh! by the way, her name is now Gloria Big Stick in the Mud. She married one of the Indians and she has the cutest mud hut iniminable. , There was quite a bit of interference in my radio set the other day and when I investigated I I was able to pick up a distress signal from .Tack Chrysler. Remember him? It seems he was on his way back home to the Moon Che had been to the World on a fishing tripl when he fell asleep at the wheel of his rocket ship and when he woke up he was on Saturn with six flat tires. That could only happen to Jack Chrysler! I I regret to inform you students that poor Katy Dodge dldn't do so well. She had such high hopes of living happily ever after with Mike Kankamp but fate just didn't see things that way. They enjoyed one week of married bliss and then Mike gathered up all his belongings and left. Rumor has it that he bought a sale barn in Alaska. Our sweet Katy is now living along -the East Coast. It would break your heart to hear her screaming at the top of her voice Fresh fish, fresh fish! I think it's marvelous how Larry Penjck has done so much as coach at Tri-State College. His football team plays Notre Dame once in a while just for the practice. Tri-State always beats Notre Dame anyway. I wasn't too surprised at the career that Carol Lash chose for herself. She's aburlesque artist now you know. I had the pleasure of seeing her on the stage the last time I was visiting France. Something about her act is very different! Instead of appearing on stage and taking it off, Carol appears on stage and puts it on . Oh well, Carol always was a little backward. I took Shasta, my pet elephant, to the animal doctor at Barnum gl Bailey's circus and found him to be none other than Don Linn. He has charge of all the animals at the circus. That is easy to understand because Don, even in high school days, had a deep love for poor, little, animals. Mavis is actually married to .Tim but she doesn't live in her little white house as we thought she would. No, Mavis and Jim are missionary team in the tropical forests of Africa. You students should be proud of Mavis, for she's doing a fine job of giving those pigmies an education. I have been wondering if Mr. Smith was able to attend the homecoming. He was the class councelor for the graduating class of 52 . It's simply amazing that he has complete charge of the largest girl's school on Mars. He was very daring and adventuresome to take over such a responsibilty. Rose Brand is anything but the home ec. teacher that she planned to be. She is a very attractive hat check girl in one of Mr. Plattis fabulous night clubs. In her spare time she teaches wrestling in various kindergartens. Say, do you remember Jack Sassanella? He used to drive a Chevrolet coupe when he was a senior in high school. Jack didn't wander very far from Pleasant Lake. He bought a little office and is now the most well-known justice of the peace in Angola. He makes most of his money on Saturdays when he is kept busy marrying couples from Michigan. Did you notice who was 'KMother of the Decadew? There was a detailed article about her complete with pictures in the last issue of Trans Planet News. I thought I recognized her and when I read the print below the picture I discovered it was none other than the former Marlene Helmuth. She has three lovely children who think the world of her. Her children entered an essay on Why My Mother Should Be Mother Of the Decade in the Trans Planet News and they won. Pleasant Lake High's band certainly lost a good cymbal player when Paul White graduated. Paul now has his own bop band and is really going to the top. He does a cymbal sologvocalist is a girl named Connie Holsinger. You are probably wondering what the years from P. Lake has brought me. Well, I have no occupation really, I just enjoy myself. I own several steel mills in Pennsylvania and my husband is the president of Westinghouse Company. He is forever amusing himself by designing new electrical gadgets and splitting atoms. My summer home is on Venus, however, and that is where I spend most of my time. It has been nice writing this letter to you. I think of the Alma Mater quite often and wonder how things have changed. Please inform me when the next homecoming and alumni banquet will be. I shall try very hard to be there. Sincerely, Nancy Sponsored by FARM BUREAU, Pleasant Lake, Indiana 21
