l I CHAPTER I Freshmen-Sept. '42 Sixty-two of us entered the halls of P.H.H.S. and began looking for the number of our classrooms. Wanda Iune Snyder and Ed Simmons were elected class king and queen. With Miss Hon to guide us, we spent this year getting acquainted with high school and changing our ways from the mere children that we were to those of worthy sophomores. CHAPTER H Sophomores-Sept. '43 We start this year very confident. No longer are we the lowly freshmen, but we hold the upper classmen in respect and dream of the time when we will be juniors. We have sixty-eight enrolled for the year of '43-'44 with Clarence Bailey and Zelma Burris as our king and queen. We finished this year by holding an all school picnic the last day. Miss Owens helped us through our trials and tribulations and we were ready to start the last half of our high school career. CHAPTER III Juniors-Sept. '44 Things began to happenfa football team once again, spring contests in music and commerce, a swing band organized and just being upper classmen- we had the privilege of being hosts at the Rainbow Inn and inviting the seniors, faculty, and board members to a banquet and dance. Miss Hon, our capable sponsor, gave us herblessing and sent us out into the world of almost seniors. CHAPTER IV Seniors-Sept. '45 As the final chapter of our history, we are proud to claim the title of seniors. Mr. Means, our new superintendent, greeted us as we entered the door. Soon we elected the following class officers-Pres. Clarence Bailey, V. Pres. Robert George, Sec. Wanda Snyder, Treas. Iuanita Bowers, and Class Reporter Mildred Hayes. We. chose Tonight we launch, where shall we anchor as our motto. We selected the red rose as the class flower and red and white as class colors. Miss Owens helped us in the many activities this year-Christmas assembly, the senior play, guests of the juniors at the banquet, contests in music, com- merce, and dramatics, publishing the first annual since 1928, and at the last the thrilling dramatic moment when we received our diplomas, which drew Chapter IV to a close. As a resume I found that of the forty-six, eleven students, Wanda lune Snyder, Nellie Czeschin, Bill Frakes, Bill Burton, Betty Storms, Robert George, Iimmy Thomas, Glenn Terril, Iunior Owens, and Evelyn Stalnaker had gone through twelve years of school life together.
