513 w I 1 1 ' I ,ff Al Dotson, long-time resident of the Pleasant Hill area and member of the Pleasant Hill School Board, died January, 1981. He had been a school board member since 1972 and chairman of the board twice during this time. Mr. Dotson worked hard to provide the district with a first-class educational system. He also was in the front line of the struggle to have district employees paid fairly yet keep the cost to the taypayer within reason. Al was specifically the Senior Citizens representative on the board since he was 63 years old when he first took'office in 1972. Al Dotson moved into the Pleasant Hill area in 1946. He was the father of five childreng all of whom graduated from Pleasant Hill schools. He was one of the original volunteers of the Pleasant Hill Fire Department. Al was also involved with the Lane Education Service District as well as the Lane County School Boards Association. A1 Dotson will be missed. He was a man who willingly volunteered his time to serve his community.
