The cotmselors are chosen through interviews and then attend several classes prior to camp to prepare lessons for the classes they will teach. These classes include Water Study, Animals, Plants, Soil, First Aid, survival, and Map and Compass. Because of the size of the fifth grade class, two weeks are needed. In the past years, counselor and camper alike have come home from Camp Lane with enjoyable memories. This year was no exception. One staff has worked on both the Annual and the Newspaper. The Publications class has taken two field trips this year, one to Mt. Hood Community College and the other to University of Oregon. Kevin placed third in district and was also chosen by his teammates as the most valuable team member. The girls' j.V. volleyball team voted junior Tammy Smith as their most valuable player. The most valuable player on the j.V. football team was junior Don Shipman. Scott Trivett was named the most valuable player for the freshmen team. Steve had been a student in the Pleasant Hill School District since the first grade and displayed his love of the outdoors and his closeness with nature through his work in the forestry program. He participated in the forestry skills days with enthusiasm and dedication by doing the best he could to strongly represent himself and his school. - During his short life , Steve exhibited strength of character in a warm, friendly manner. He conveyed a calm respect and casual friendship to all those arolmd him. His pleasant, easy- going manner will be missed by everyone who knew him.
