Varsity Basketball The Billies with seven lettermen, ran up a 5 win-3 loss record early in the season. Most of the way through league, the Bill had a medicore 4 win-6 loss record, but, won four in a row to wrap up third place in the league and gain momentum going into the league tournament. The Billies had an overall successful season but failed to gain a bid to the state tournament. They finished third in the tough Sky Em League with a 8 win-6 loss record in league play. First and second teams in the league were Marist, which won first place, and Douglas which won fourth place at state. After regualr league play, all the teams in the league participated in the Sky-Em tournament to determine which teams would represent the league in the state tournament. Pleasant H1ll's first opponent was South Umpqua which they defeated 60-57. In semifinal action they ran intt the tough Douglas Trojans who knocked the Billies out of the tournament 69-55. At the winter sports banquet, awards were given to the following: Senior Goug Graham for Most Inspirational Player Junior Randy Klohn was named Most Improved, Senior Roger Condos was named Most Valuable Player. Condos led the team in scoring and rebounding with 15.0, 9.5 average respectively, which also helped him gain second team All-League honors. a Coach Neher discusses strategy before the opening tip off of a play-off game. b Roger Condos and Bryan Smith head up court after recovering a loose ball.
