During that time he is expected to develop qualities that will be beneficial to him in the years to come. Schools are the foundation upon which this solid future is based: however, today's schools are not for book learning. alone, they are educational centers with numerous extracurricular activities designed to pro- duce a well rounded individual. Upon graduation from high school, a student forgets his childhood pranks and teen-age fads and begins to realize his responsibilities as an adult in today's everchanging world. Although his days as a youngster may be over, their im- 2 portance will never die because a moment of youth is immeasurable as well as unforgettable. The senior play, The Red House Mystery, and the junior play, You Can't Kiss Caroline, fea- tured the theatrical talents of both classes. Another annual production, the Talent Show, sponsored by the Student Council, furnished its audience with top notch high school talent, Climaxing the special events, the juniors presented their prom with a trop- ical charm all its own. 1966-67 had been a busy year in the life of each student, but it had been worth every moment of it. Loyal mem- bership in a school organization has always meant a great deal to students. There are clubs organized for service and for fun, those affiliated with national and international organizations, and those competing within themselves. Each of Pleasant's clubs has a definite purpose - to acquaint students with possible professions, to honor the students' scholastic achieve- ments, to record the news and activities at school, or to plan the general activities of the student body. The character and personality of each individual stu- dent is best portrayed through the activities in which he participates. '67 5 M -fm 5 ififfsfx OFFICERS - N, Huff, S, Clark, C. The everchanging pattern of life never ceases to produce new acquaintances. The kids in the neighborhood, the guys on the team, the girls in the club, the dedicated teachers and leaders, and that special someone make up each person's acquaintances and true friends during the golden years of school. It is this fellowship and these ideals which accompany the student the rest of his life. These people are also the ones who have introduced him to the true meaning of friendship and have given him a better under- standing of the people who constitute the world. They demonstrate thoughtfulness, generosity, and good fellowship, They are indispensable in time of need. These are the attri- butes of P1easant's administration. As the school year opened, there was a restraint between the faculty and the students. As the year progressed, the teachers gained the students' respect and admiration. Prov. 4:7 Based on my experiences, in many lands, with peoples of widely varying characteristics and customs, I reject this secular concept of the nature of the universe, and how it is ordered, and the nature of man and his place in that universe. I hold that those ba- sically spiritual values, patriotism, piety, honor, love, duty, charity, and personal responsibility, which can neither be observed by the senses nor measured by instruments, con- stitute the most powerful of those forces which, in the years to come, will shape the character of our world and of its peoples!
