The school year passed and seniors were faced with the challenge of making plans that could affect the rest of their lives. Some had definite ideas and some vague notions, but they all real- ized that the time was at hand to make some decision about what they would like to do with their lives. Several had plans to continue their education. Abby Brown and Charlie Coody hoped to attend Haskell Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas, El- len Dorrough hoped to go to the University of Texas and become a physical therapist, DeLynn Eddlemon wanted, eventually, to become an at- torney after receiving a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Law, after completing college, Maria Stanfill would like to open her own accounting firm. Others hoped to go to work soon after high school graduation. Mark Smithee planned to open a repair shop for consumer electronics in Seminole, and Richard Harris worked toward be- coming a welding technician. Whatever they chose to do, the graduates of THE YEAR OF THE COMETSH were armed with values, determination, and a good educa- tion, all of which will help them find their par- ticular place in the world.
