Life does not end at 3:00. When the last bell rings, school work and assignments are temporarily forgotten as students rush away to take part in a variety of activities. Some have jobs while others enjoy dabbling in the arts of many, more sedate pastimes. For athletes, basketball season is a very busy time. They spend many of their evenings practicing and competing in games. Basketball Guard, DeLynn Eddlemon says that, Adjusting FTER THE to a new team and a new coach has been a difficult but rewarding experience. Several students are involved in sports other than those sponsored by the school. For instance, Kenny Hernandez plays softball on the same co- ed team as his motherp Chad Abney enjoys the wonderful sport of fishingg and Abby Brown plays independent basketball with several students from other schools. Many other students enjoy such sports also. ALRICHT! SCHOOL IS OUT! The students of Pleasant Grove rush out of the building after the last bell rings to signal the end of another school day. OH WHAT RUBBISHE Leandra Reed takes her time cleaning up the trash in the teacher's lounge. She sets aside a small portion of her time after school to help clean the school building. This page is sponsored by joe and Anita Reed. Many students that have jobs don't have time for these kinds of activities. Mark Smithee, who works at Bestyet, goes to work at 4:00 and has barely an hour to get ready. His comment about this is, I wish I could go to work two hours later but the extra hours really come in handy on payday. Maria Stanfill works at Smitty's Coin- Op on Main Street. DeLynn Eddlemon works as a cashier at Wal-Mart. Richard Harris works at Polo's Restaurant. LAST BELL Homework is also a part of each student's activities after school each day. It has to be done but is usually put off until the last minute. When the next day's classes begin some students will still be hurrying to get their homework finished to hand in. When asked why he always puts off his homework, freshman Randy Cook stated, If I do homework, I have nightmares about books chasing me, saying, 'Study me. Study me. '
