COLORS FLOWER Blue and White On September 4,1956, forty-nine bewildered F re s hm e n started their first year in high school. They soon began to move from class to class with e a s e and became accustomed to high school ways. They selected Mac Bowman for the Amo4ena Staff, Martha Bradsher, T rina Riggan, Kay Squires, and Mary Catherine Wellons became library assistants. Many ofthe Freshmen girls joined the Glee Club, Johnny Page was selected Student Council Repre- Pink Carnation Serliafiiveulacky Lewis was chosen Freshman cheer- leader, In the amateur program Bobby Gilliam won for singing and playing the guitar. As a group the Freshmen classwent to the Raleigh Fair. Although it was bad weather, they had fun. Many won teddy bears.
