As was the custom, initiation day marked our formal introduction into this institution of higher learning. We elected as officers Morris McHone, President; Loretta Allison, Vice President; Elizabeth Whitner, Secretary; Diana Byrd, Treasurer; and Barbara Hollifield, Reporter. Mrs. Bradsher and Mr. Wright were our homeroom teachers. Enthusiastically we returned to school in the fall of 1958 feeling a little more superior than we had the year before, because we were now sophomores. Holding the class offices this year were Mickey Shuford, President; Carolyn Westall, Vice President; Loretta Allison, Secretary; Diana Byrd, Treas- urer; and Barbara Hollifield, Reporter. Miss Carswell and Mr. Crawford were our homeroom teachers. We returned to school as juniors in the fall of 1959. This year was an eventful one. We gave the seniors a very nice banquet even though it required much planning and hard work. Our officers were Pat Bost, President; Arthur Clough, Vice President; Loretta Allison, Secretary; Diana Byrd, Treasurer; and Barbara Hollifield, Reporter, Mrs. Rowe and Mr. Crawford were our sponsors for this year. As the fall of 1960 marked the beginning of another school year, we stepped into the most honored position of seniors. As this year would be an eventful one we needed people who would lead our class well so we chose as officers Arthur Clough, President; Pat Bost, Vice President; Loretta Allison, Secretary; Diana Byrd and Sharon Martin, Treasurers; and Barbara Holifield, Reporter. We all looked forward to the senior play and most of all, the senior trip. At the beginning of this year we realized that a very im- portant chapter of our lives was closing, and that we were on the threshold of anéther chapter. We sincerely hope that what we have learned at Pleasant Gardens will help us make the most of our opportunities and lead us on to great i Historian 18 JEANETTE HYATT KENNETH JAMES JEWELL JOHNSON NELLIE KELLY JUDY LAUGHRIDGE GERALD LEWIS KATHERINE MARTIN LINDA McCORMICK GAYLON McKINNEY DONNA McMAHAN PATRICIA McMAHAN DEAN MOONEY JOE PADGETT GLENNA QUEEN 20 MARY CAROLE BOYD MARY SUE BYRD ELSIE CLARK MARIE DAVES BETTY LOU DAVIS RICHARD DUCHARME SHARON DUNCAN SYBIL FINLEY JERRY FREEMAN RALPH FOSSETT D BARBARA GOUGE NANCY HOLLIFIELD LARRY HOLLIFIELD 21 MICKEY ROSS IRENE SILVER We, as juniors, have experienced many adven- tures during our three years at Pleasant Gardens High School.
