. .. .. ,. 4 ,..,+..,y..v 6741.44 ,Zap ec? Well, I guess it's the gypsy in me-I don't know any other reason why they chose me to foretell the class prophecy. I will now gaze into this crystal ball to see what the future holds for this grand class of 1952. Turn onward, Turn onward Oh time in your flight Let me see the graduates of '52 Ten years from tonight! Rosa Fox has been looking around for an oflice to hang her shingle on. You know she is a dentist, I suppose. I always did wonder why she worked so hard to build up those muscles. Hold on to the chair, patients, please. If you people have been reading the newspapers, you know that one of the top scientists of the day is none other than Mary Nell Sillmon. They say she is a wizard and can split an atom to the N-th degree. VVatch for big things. My, that new filling station that Joe Collins is building is really swell. Some people wonder how he does so well, but I would like to know if his conscience hurts him when he sells three quarts of gas for a gallon. Howard Coble is doing quite well for himself in his hardware store in Climax. He says the women don't buy rolling pins any more, but to tell the new brides he has another supply of can openers. April's issue of Charm really disappeared from the newsstand, but no wonder. Our own Doris White's face smiled prettily on the cover wearing a new Easter Bonnet. She really is a lovely model. Say, who is that smiling nurse coming out of room 209 in Duke Hospital Libby Hunt, of course. Who vvouldn't get sick just for her to hold their hand. Butch Culbreth, history teacher of fifth grade at dear old P. G.. Yes, children, Columbus discovered America in 1492, but the world discovered us, and we made history in 1952. What's on that sign on that new office on Main Street Hadley Hunt, Professional Dentistry, Pain- less Extraction. We don't know about that, but that tall blond fellow is really an attraction. Nancy Kirkman has just been elected president of the North Carolina Society of Cosmetologists. She specializes in permanent waves, facials, and, oh, yes getting rid of double chins, too. I Don Moore is now manager of the Western Auto Store just above P. G. Post Oliice. He can hardly keep enough parts for the Hot Rods the boys are driving around. He complains he can't sell them any speedometers. June Vernon won the most blue ribbons at the fair this year. She is a wonderful housekeeper. No wonder her husband is putting on weight-with her doing the cooking. Roland Jobe is the fellow to call when you need to have the sink unstopped. I understand he is a first-rate plumber. He should be-he put his teeth on a pair of pliers in his I ather's garage. Lower the gang plank, folks. Do you see who I see? None other than our own Bill Nesbit, who is now in the United States Marines. Take a letter, please, Miss Janet Hannerf' She is secretary to the President of the largest bank in Pleasant Garden. Walter Williams and Joe Hackett are two of the most successful farmers of our day. I've heard they had to build larger barns this year and they are buying new machinery. What they learned in F.F.A. must have been worth a lot. Say, what's this? Buy your tickets for the wrestling match tonight. JEAN WILLARD DEFENDS HER CHAMPIONSHIP TI'l'I.E. VV:-ll, all I can say is, it should be exciting. Bobbie Newman is now Librarian in one of the city schools. She is very efficient and keeps every book in its proper place. I wonder if she makes the students keep quiet. VVe remember the library periods in 1952. Theba Melnnis, as you know, attended W. C. She liked it so well that she is now on the faculty there. EXTRA! EXTRA! EXTRA! Read -all about it. Up-to-the minute interesting news written by none other than Carol Sue Marley, news reporter for The New York Times. Mildred Warfe is now running a nursing home. She is so kind and good to all of them. Who knows Maybe some millionaire from Pleasant Garden may will her a fortune some day. Pleasant Garden is really proud of Randall Jobe. I-le is a general in the Air Force. Mayor James Glass planned the big parade the last time General Jobe came home. It started at Hunt's Furniture Company and ended at Jones' Barber Shop. Say, who is that going in the parsonage? The former Doris Coble, she is the bride of the new Meth- odist minister. She always was a wonderful person. Mary Lou Satterfield made the headlines on the sport page when the Boston Red Sox won the pen- nant. You know she is manager of the team. Her manager hopes she will retire in the future and manage their own five players. If any of you fellas and girls go sailing on the sea of matrimony-eon your honeymoon, how about dropping in to see Betty Thompson in Florida? I understand she has quite a fleet of yachts. I suppose you wonder what this crystal ball holds for me. My, it looks interesting, but right now you can see, I am too busy with the future of my classmates.
