The team finished third in the first city wrestling championship. Trojansg Ray Akins, Dan Delulio, and Scott Layden, all won first place in their weight groups. The wrestling team gained many new fans after their exciting wins over Virginia Beach and Bayside when they had come from behind with a fiurry of points and pins. Plaza started the season with a five game winning streak and then lost to Kempsville by one run. The Trojans quickly bounced back and ended the season with eight wins and three losses. Dan Delulio. the Trojans' leading pitcher set a team record by batting in nine runs in a single game. Returning prospects for the 1971 team were D. Delulio. S. Layden. K. Brown. T. Morrissey. S. Blackmon. F. Ludvik. and W. Bloxom.
