D l Plaza Voices Fill The Air With Music The Concert Chorus is the main performing chorus of Plaza Junior High. During the year they have performed in two main concerts, the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert. They have also performed for the PTSA and visiting seventh graders. Students must audition to become a member of the chorus. Twenty students from the Concert Chorus were selected for Virginia Beach All-City Chorus. The first sopranos chosen were: Annette Evans. Debbie Tilton, Danita Wood, Adela Colane, Kim Peele, Dora Holloway, and Desiree Burford. Second sopranos were: Kathryn Borbst and Danita McFatrich. Altos selected were: Julie Hitchcock, Christy Liedel, Carol Kern, Diana Bruffy, Candy Weymouth, and Marilou Harris. Baritones chosen were: John King, Billy Taylor, James Petty, Marvin Allen, and David Duke.

S Mixed Chorus Sings Out For Plaza The Mixed Chorus is made up of eighth grade boys and girls. These students concentrate on being able to sing the parts they are asked to sing. Vocal exercises are used to extend the voice range both in the upper register as well as the lower register. Music must be chosen carefully for the changing voice of the boy. The 1971 Odyssey staff did not organize until after January 1 this year so the staff had to rush to put out the 1971 edition. Many willing hands and eager people have helped with various phases of the book. The Odyssey is truly a school-wide production. Students find putting out a book is a task of cooperation between layout artists, copy writers, and business staff. Staff members who work on creative staff gain valuable experience in the field ofjournalism.
