Plaza Students Speak ut Through SCA The Student Cooperative Association is a student governing body consisting of officers. selected from the student body by a school-wide election campaign and homeroom repre- X sentatives. Students desiring office must meet minimum academic requirements and have petitions signed by fellow students and teachers before they can place their names on the ballot. The SCA has sponsored a school dance and offered the student body some proposals being considered for a dress code. As a result of student response. girls can now wear pants suits , 9 . 4 to classes. The SCA also tried to arrange to furnish music to the cafeteria during lunch periods. The purpose ofthe SCA is to provide a com- munications link between the students. the administration. and the faculty. Johnson work on decorations for the Sadie Hawkins Day dance that the club helped to sponsor. 27 The An Club. preferably called the Sketch Pad, was newly formed in January. The informal meetings of this club are to provide a variety of experiences in art for interested students. In May the Art Club participated in the Virginia Beach Festival of the Visual and Performing Arts that was held for all junior and senior high schools ofthe city. The club undertakes individual and group projects and also joins activities connected with other clubs and departments ofthe school. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Radford were the joint sponsors of the club. Priscilla Glover was Pres- ident and Sue Blaylock was Vice-President.
