P.H.S. It has begun, the pledge to our flag is recited, perhaps with meaning, perhaps with the dim hope of passing a few minutes. What lies ahead for that student, only one in the room knows for sure. . .the iridescent lights, the chalked blackboards, the grinding of the pencil sharpeners. Many days pass forward while falling parallel to so many more, yet their is a difference. Although parallel, nothing is repetitious. The concealed pages of the past open their covers and enlighten. The volume of research come face to face with the many of those it will know in the future. The artist draws the lines that may become a Rembrandt, and the problems of the world are solved by those, who despite their confusion today, will be the statesmen of tomorrow. But this is the way it is, and this is the way it must be. Although the lights of the present continue to shine and the pencil sharpeners never cease their grinding, the world has changed. In an instant the doors have been thrown open to the generation to come. And with this. . . they are seeing.

One of our 8th grade history classes receives a A World History class finds new things about coins, lecture. Classroom Atmosphere Prevails Psychology class watches T. V. Classroom atmosphere is not too clear for some students, but for the most part, things going on in the classroom are not hard to understand. The determining fac- tor of class atmosphere lies in the relations between the teacher and students. This year, as always, those relations have been at their best throughout the year cre- ating the best atmosphere possible for the teachers and students. This atmosphere is further enhanced by the new devices in the classroom that help the learning process. This year has been a very good year for class atmosphere. Mr. Caverzagie instructs diligent pupils. 12
